Game Description
Our game is titled CRISIS: Cleaning Robot in Situations in Space! Play as a cleaning robot aboard a very dirty space station. Consume rats and trash as the space station devolves into chaos.

How does your game tie into the theme?
In our game, the player is a cleaning robot who consumes trash and dirt in order to clean the station. We wanted to play around with a fun take on Consume, so we decided on a cleaning robot!

The game, especially the pixel art, is very charming! I also like that there there is a subtle storytelling of a monster bursting out of its tank and consuming all the humans on board, which adds on to the "consume" theme. But I find the movement and controls to be a bit frustrating. For example, it is hard to make turns precisely with only the left and right arrow keys. Personally I find the gameplay to be a bit boring, but I'm not the biggest fan of simulator games so there's that.

Kinda depressing that the humans get killed immediately as soon as the little roomba approaches them.

We really appreciate your feedback! We made animations of the alien killing the people as the level progressed, but we ran out of time to implement it sadly.  We also had a second control scheme made, but we also ran out of time to let the user choose.  Thanks for playing!

This is a great concept and it was very fun. Kinda reminds me of Power Washing Simulator, but this game has a lot more character

Developer

Thanks for playing! We really appreciate it

Art was great and gave a lot of personality to the roomba, a lot of love just for the animation of it bouncing off the walls.

I think it could have benefited from a way to fail but otherwise I enjoyed the little narrative of game , great stuff.

Oh I also ran into an issue on the 2nd stage where I had to fill more of the progress bar than what was shown so the green bar kinda clipped out.

Fun gameplay and I enjoyed the evolving story, and the way that the robot is just busy cleaning messes and obvious to the chaos surrounding it.

Controls are a bit twitchy with the high turn speed and no analog input (played on steamdeck with wasd control profile)

Developer

Thanks! We're glad you had fun, and appreciate the feedback. Sadly we didn't test it for analog input. We'll have to consider that for our next jam

Another input idea would be dragging the mouse it touch input slowly to drive in the direction you are dragging, like drawing the path

Developer

Oh that sounds really cool, thank you for the suggesting

I'm in love with the concept, I don't know how you came up with this idea but it's brilliant to make a roomba-based videogame. Loved the gameplay and the comedy tone surrounding it.

Thank you! We're really glad you enjoyed it

Great one!

Pros:
- Zenlike roomba-based gameplay
- Cleanly executed idea with no real glitches (at least that I ran into)
- Eat rat

Cons:
- A little tedious to mop up every speck of a stain

I haven't played many yet, but I bet that this will probably be one of the better games in this jam. Awesome job, congrats!
