How does your game fit the theme?
The character got started on his adventure without being prepared for the rigors of the dungeon, and as such must prepare while exploring the depths.

It's sad you couldn't finish the game, but that is how game jams often go; I don't remember the last time I actually implemented my initial plan.
Regardless, you have some nice polish for your combat. The SFX you've added provide important feedback for the gameplay, and the stagger and knockback upon being hurt, adds weight to taking damage, and avoids it potentially going unnoticed in the bullet hell mania.
Neat game, and cool concept for the theme. More upgrades would have been nice, but a "vertical slice" of gameplay isn't so bad either.
it is short but actully well made . But the difference between before and after upgrade can be too big , the wand before felt like it barely did damage.
I really liked the idea, and the story seems interesting (from the description). The art was simple and nice, and I think you really made it work!
A full game with a story would be awesome
Would like to see more from you!
Good work!
The idea is good, chosing wand upgrades like a rougelike would be soo cool
I love the bullet hell aspect and difficulty of it. The art is nice and sweet. Would love to see more of this!
short but fun, i would have liked to see more wand upgrades and more enemies
i see it has a great potential
Short experience but it has potential! I like the bullet hell aspect of it. Would love to see more upgrade and ennemies. Keep developing its fun enough.
Nice little game ! I love how it gets overwhelming pretty quickly even tho it gets a little too hard when you get cornered by a lot of projectiles because of the stun time when you get hit.
Would definetely want to see more !
Nice visuals and art style. No bugs encountered. I really liked the idea of a "broken wand" that needs to be upgraded. Fairly intuitive controls and nice balance of movement speed, enemy strength, etc. I liked that you used the mouse to aim instead of the direction the player is pointed in (which kept fighting clean). I liked the zone transitions and that you could drawn enemies into a previously cleared zone to ambush them. I thought the wand upgrade was very satisfying.
Very fun game! loved the pixel art but sometimes I got trapped in corners with skeletons shooting. Great job overall!
Basically just the binding of isaac, but you can BLJ but because you don't wanna BLJ
Nice little game. With some additional enemies and a few more room, this is gonna be great!
The last room is insane though,. I was just permanently stunned with all the enemies throwing bones, maybe the stun is a bit long or too many attacks at once, but otherwise it's super cool. I did manage to get them all in the end though. Good job!
Good concept. The knockback is a bit brutal and can allow being stunlocked onto a corner. With more enemies and varieties of spells and effects I could see a full game from this.
good concept, you just nedd to add more enemies and levels.
The stun on hit is unreal. Then again, the stun on enemy is nice.
loved the wizard attacking mechanics as well as the enemy attacking combat also the upgrade on the range of the spell that the wizard cast was a nice touch, i think you could add a background music which will make the game feel more alive also idk if i misplayed it but i did defeat all enemies but did not get a win message or anything, but overall really fun game.
I like the art and premise
Might want to add a flash to the hit animation (both for the player and for enemies)
I didn't even realize that my projectile could do damage, I thought it just knocked enemies back to dodge them (on that note, it would be cool if you could also shoot at the enemy projectiles)
It was a lil hard to tell that the upgrade did anything, maybe change the size or color of the projectile?
I'm not sure if I finished the game, I hit a dead end room and killed all the enemies but nothing happened lol
Yeah, I ran out of time to make an actual ending. I didn't even consider making the projectile a different color and didn't have time to make a new sprite with animation, I'll have to keep that in mind, that I could just recolor it rather than creating a whole new sprite.
Thanks for playing!
Very good start! would love to see you build on this more.
okay, so this was a bullet hell. 2 enemies, one that follows you, and one that always shoots slow moving aimed projectiles at you. the bullet patterns were certainly very basic, you could stream every single bullet (that means like moving in a certain direction to always avoid aimed bullets), pretty basic levels, alright sfx. it's really short, and i noticed a funny bug where enemies would continue shooting at you even if you've left the room. the art and animations are nice though c:
