I like the core concept a lot and think it fits the theme very well. Reminds me of Kirby games and always loved those.
I wish it was possible to heal by eating the dead guys. Then maybe I'd be forced to experiment with other abilities now and then instead of sticking with my favorite/safest option.
All in all fun idea, would be excited to see it expanded upon! Good job for implementing it as fast as this jam's deadline :)
A really solid and well executed idea! Didn't take long at all to get the hang of it, and I appreciate that the game wasn't too long to finish. I liked how rooms were hidden before you went inside of them, it created some mystery and surprise. I do wish acquiring the abilities was slightly faster, it kinda broke up the flow of the game sometimes. Keep up the great work!
I really like the idea, but my biggest issue is that the starter ability is better than the one you can get from the skull. I think it would be nice if you could switch between the consumed abilities, which would allow situational usage of them.
Pretty nice, there could have been more response and indication for actions (for instance I didn't understand what I got when I looted a body because there was no indication).I couldn't beat the game because I lost 3-4 times and I got lazy lol.
A short game but all your mechanics were smooth, felt nice to play. I don't think I bothered to try the skulls ability because it seemed much worse than the projectiles.
Sprite work was also very nice, good job.
Very cool concept! I also loved the animations and all the bad guys.
Fun concept! I could see this being expanded to a full game with some more power ups. I would've liked the ability to auto-shoot with the range attack when holding down left click
Fun game, the concept is really interesting! I did find the eating timer a big long, I think a shorter time to eat could allow switching skill while in the room to adapt to certain enemies, which could be fun!
Really fun game :) I would have easily played more of it. A shorter time to consume and an icon to indicate the current ability would be nice (and minor thing: the music doesn't loop at some point). But really well done idea, with nice art and animation on top of it :)
Really fun dungeon crawler, I would have love to have more options on abilities and try them all, well done :)
Fun little game! It was harder than I thought at first.
I like the art and the simple animations of the character.
The time it takes to eat the bodies could be a little bit faster because it takes way to much time to consume them after you cleared the room. I would like to see a reason for eating them too, something like heal maybe?
Also, at some point at the left room my range attack changed to charge attack and I never understood why that happened xD It was a funny little surprise though!
Overall, it's a nice submission. Keep up the work!
