Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
Draw lines to help Geoff on his way, you can plan for as long as you like and Geoff will wait, but don't take too long as your ink is leaking until you set him off... The best thing is to just get started.

Nice  visuals and audio, but most importantly very nice gameplay. It was fun and quite challenging to play.  Very solid game for a first time jams and Also I would like to know how you created the drawing mechanics in Godot :D

All the best for upcoming games :D

Developer

Thanks glad you enjoyed playing! To create the lines I have a node called Line Container and then a function that tracks the mouse clicks to find start and end points, then creates the line as a node with children to give it a shape, colour, and collision body. I can share it if you want it :)

Nice music, the main drawing mechanic is pretty nice, I like that you punish for taking too long during the planning period, and that you added a short tutorial area. Good job ( ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ )

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and excellent work to do the main game in only 5 deaths!

I like the music. The controls are a bit hard to get used to at first but it’s a very fun game! Loved the level design.

Developer

Yeah I’m working on the controls and giving Geoff a strong talking to about being less picky with his edges, thanks for playing!

Submitted

I really like the visuals, and the music is also very good!

Developer(+1)

Thanks I appreciate it!

Happy days, thanks for playing!

That was a very fun and cute game! I especially had fun in the challenge levels and I loved the ending with the two blobs meeting up. I would've loved for more levels because I had a lot of fun coming up with different ways to solve them. I'm very impressed with how smooth the drawing mechanic was so great job with that. Some of the colliders could be a bit weird sometimes and Geoff would get stuck but it's alright, he's probably just excited to get home!

Developer

Bless him, poor Geoff is doing his best, thanks for playing and the feedback I’m in the process of refining the collision shapes so Geoff doesn’t get stuck anymore

76 Deaths, with challenge levels. Geoff sometimes really doesn't want to go up on a platform, and I think my game had a meltdown once so I had to reset. But other than really fun idea, and fun to play. Good work!

Developer(+1)

76 is a solid score, and Geoff is going to be working on his hill climbing as it’s not quite perfect… Thanks for playing!

A really fun game! with music that gives good vibes too:) (A bit too loud though, maybe you can add settings to adjust the music.)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I’ve got a few settings to add so an options menu is in the pipeline

Really creative game, games where you draw paths are normally very fun to play! Good job and congrats on your first jam!

Developer

Thanks, glad you had fun!

A short but really fun game. I feel like Geoff is  a bit picky about his lines  for someone just trying to get home, but it was still a really  fun game, I think this game could become  even better with more of evereything to be honest. The art is good, the music to and the game is fun. Very welll done especially for your first game jam :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah I’ll be having a word with Geoff about his line climbing, thanks for playing!

Submitted

Sounds good please do that for me.

I love this games where you can draw "platforms/obstacles" how does one even do this, is the line made with lots of small circle colliders? Anyway it was pretty fun, Very well done :)

And if you jave the time feel free to go try out my game as well, i would love your feedback

Developer

Thanks for playing! I made this in Godot and pretty much I store the point the mouse is clicked then track the mouse position for the preview line, when the mouse is released the line itself gets drawn and a collider is added over the top. It’s just a rectangle collider that’s shorter than the line and then each end has a circle to reduce the amount Geoff catches on the line

Submitted

Well done. I really really enjoyed this. I do wish the draw lines were a bit more forgiving I kept getting the slime stuck but in the end I got them to the end.

Developer

Thanks, yeah poor Geoff is a bit picky at the moment but I’m working on it!

Cute game with an interesting mechanic, couldn't finish it now but will do that for sure. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I’m sure you’ll get it!

This game has an excellent concept!

I love these kind of games where you draw stuff in the game for objects to interact with to reach a goal

Only criticism I have is that the length of the lines you can draw should show the bar decreasing while you are drawing  and it does feel a bit fast

Developer

Thanks for playing, you’re exactly right about the lines previewing on the ink bar I just couldn’t figure it out in time!

Submitted

Nice game, congratulations on your first jam ^_^ I really liked the art and the music, and the concept of drawing lines to make new walls and floors instead of directly moving the character with the controls is so fun!

One thing I didn't really get the point of is the planning phase. You can't use it to prepare your lines beforehand anyway, so in the end I always ended up just restarting the level when I'm done thinking spamming space so the level starts. I get that I'm kind of cheesing the mechanic and adding a death to the counter, but I feel like it would make more sense if you were allowed to draw lines while planning.

Fun game overall, good job!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I’m internet was spotty so I only got through a handful of levels, that being said, what I did get to play was fun! I like these types of games the music so upbeat, the controls are good, ant the art is spot on.  I like it!

Simple and creative mechanic with really fun puzzles! The ink management brings it all together and I really liked the subtle touch that ink runs out as you are thinking about the level before you start it. I had a great time playing your game!

Developer

Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed helping out poor Geoff!

Cool game and cool puzzles! Congrats on the submission!
The jump line is a little buggy, but overall, I had a great time. I couldn't draw lines in the planning phase tho, was that intended?
Regardless, great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing, not drawing in the planning phase is intentional, to encourage players to not spend too long and just get started on the run

Submitted

Wow, the drawing mechanic was just amazing, really liked the idea!

It is kind of challenging but in a good way, also the music fits perfectly with the game))

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you had as much fun playing it as I had making it!
