Newbie?

Newbie

Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
An astronaut and a robot crash on an alien planet. They only have soy - no other way out than to just get started.

Also, been getting around to starting this for way too long now, so, thanks!

Really creative approach to the theme and really relaxing, I loved the calculation that surviving will drop the chance of death to 0% how did he know that? The game seems fun, with a bit more polish I could see myself playing it again :D

Very good game! It's the type of jam game, that might be not that successful on jam, but has a lot of potential for full game. I would genuinely play this on Steam, if it had more content and polish, also encyclopedia for fusions too.

You finished it! And you said the magic word "Steam", that gets my zombie heart buzzing.
Much appreciated!

Interesting 1st game. Could use more HUD. But the bones are there.

Submitted(+1)

Never thought I would say this but the rocks ate all my soy :(

Would love to see a future version with more plant fusions and a bit more polish here and there! For the limited time you did well enough to showcase a concept with great potential, good job ^_^

Yep, the little rock guys look innocent but once you create them it's game over. I should really put in more ways of dealing with them, shrooms emit a protective field, but that doesn't seem enough. I'd say shooting them with the rock breaking gun is what I wanna do when I play, but is that still cozy?

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, great to hear!
I'm getting pretty hyped up to make that game now.

I really like the idea of mixing crops. As soon as I understood how it worked, I set up a small farm (and then the eared-stones came, but thats different story)

Developer

Oh cool, you made stone fiends! Thanks for playing and feedback, happy you enjoyed it.
I like the mixing too,  good to know it gets more votes than just mine, will expand it.

super creative. the idea is good too and the art is so good too but the performance get low when i face the campfire its bcuz i got a potato pc

Submitted(+1)

cool game! the movement is a bit buggy but i like the idea :)

Submitted(+1)

Very nice concept!! I'd love to see more of it if you work on it after the jam.

Developer

Oh yeah, I will. Great to know it piqued your interest, thanks!

Submitted(+1)

This certainly has its charm!

It's already pretty impressive for a jam but I'm very curious of how things would look once the placeholder art is replaced

Submitted(+1)

Very technically impressive! I like the figure it out on your own angle, but I did not realize the importance of soy beans until it was too late and I ran out. The planet is cool too. You get caught on random bits here or there, but I love the mario galaxy style rotation. Nice work!

Developer

Great to hear, thanks! Gets me excited to keep working on it.

it could be more polished put for a game jam i still have no idea how you managed to do this so fast and so far! i love it

Developer(+1)

Not much sleep, that's how, and now I'm really feeling it haha
Thanks for playing, I love it that you love it!

The plot is interesting! I think it's only lacking a bit of UI to indicate what I can pick up and what not~ but overall, it's a great first jam attempt!!<3

Developer

Thanks! Great to hear, glad you enjoyed it.

I played a bit of it, was very confused most of the time, probably because of the lack of UI, SFX or music.
Though the idea and premise is quite interesting, just need some more work and polish.
As a fellow newbie I admire your attempt at a 3D game for your first game jam! ✨

Liked the idea, with more work it has the potential to be quite a fun game

This idea definitely has potential. A little slow as it is now, but the mechanic of combining plants to discovering new ones is cool!

Developer

Love reading that, I like that mechanic too. Thanks for playing and feedback!

Love the idea! Walking around such a small sphere has a great vibe to it. And your use of dynamic lighting was really cool! Like others have said, pacing was a bit slow and at least for me I didn't hear any audio, which made the experience a little lonely. But I think there is so much potential here with the idea! You could even get the rocket ship up and running again to explore other worlds to grow more fuel!

Developer

Oh great, so cool you enjoyed it! Thanks for a detailed feedback, much appreciated

The beginning is a little confusing and the progress is a bit slow

Developer

Ok, I hear ya, thanks for checking it out

This was lovely, though seemingly quite buggy. There were lots of lagspikes and invisible walls? i think?

Developer

I get what you mean, no invisible walls, but it ain't the smoothest of games. To be fixed.
Many thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it even with the lags.

Very creative idea, I'm a space farmer now

Developer

Great! Thanks for checking it out

Love the concept, i ran out of soybeans really early and some documentation on how to do things would be good too.

10/10 would get stuck on planet with no way home again
