I didn't finish this as I got stuck after returning to the campfire, but bugs aside I think this was a very well-made little survival horror adventure! Straightforward combat, puzzles and exploration - great atmosphere, visuals (simple but effective models and textures) and sound design. The camera angles are well-designed and the player input is responsive and effective.

Real shame about the areas you can walk off the main path and trap yourself. I was able to escape one trap outside the cabin by getting as close as I could to the front door and clicking on it, teleporting inside and to safety, but it's possible to walk into the distance and not return when you're out the back of the cabin.

If you get these issues fixed, please let us know at the Fixed Camera Appreciation Society!

idk why it wouldn't let me post this on your game page, but had fun playing this one!

There was sometimes lag for camera changes, or the camera wouldn't change and the player character was off screen and kept getting  stuck on something because I couldn't get them back on screen or to trigger a camera change. The first time I tried playing it when walking  up the hill the player character just didn't show up in the lower  end of the screen and  I had to X out and relaunch. I think I may have also missed a few interaction boxes,  because the first smear  of blood  you  find and your friend's  body seemed like they would've had an interaction.   I didn't end up finishing the game, because I got really annoyed by the player character getting stuff off screen.

The atmosphere and sound design was on point without being too crowded. I also think that having a stack of logs nearby the fire and having the character go  and  find a log elsewhere as being misleading design,  because at first I was clicking around on the nearby log  stacks. Maybe even just adding that the stack already collected is wet or something when prompted by the friend?

Very well crafted, liked the atmosphere and pacing a lot. There were a couple of interaction boxes that were tricky to hit, but not a big deal. Cool monster and good sound design.

That monster gave me a good scare. I enjoyed this one very much.

Great entry! My favorite so far. I had to do a few restarts because of camera blind spots, but the atmosphere and pacing is so so good. Awesome job.

Good game!  The atmosphere is creepy: the sounds really put you into the adventure!

It needs a little more testing and finding where the cameras have blind spots...  I have had to begin again 2 times because I walked out of view and couldn't return.

It is a fine game, and it gave me the chills playing it!  Good work!!

Really cool retro-style horror experience! I love the fixed camera angles — it gave me strong Resident Evil vibes. The atmosphere is super effective, and the visuals are great, especially for a jam project. That said, there's definitely still work to be done: a few times I got lost off-camera, and at the end I shot the monster — not sure if it got me or I got it, since the screen stayed black with just the sounds playing. Still, the mood and style are really strong, and I’m excited to see how it evolves! 👏🕹️🔦

This was pretty good. I played it twice. First time I wandered off screen in the back yard after getting the gun and got lost. Second time I made it back to camp but got killed by the monster. I love the crunchy textures and the aesthetic from that, the sound of the monster attack was pretty thrilling and ramped up the atmosphere nicely, and I love the monster design. I'm not so keen on the gameplay, especially with the way the cameras worked. It's way too easy to walk off frame and get stuck somewhere, and that you need to walk left back to your camp from the cabin off screen for a couple seconds and just cross your fingers that you hit the camera change trigger is... not so good. Is there a way to escape, or is the ending the monster getting you?

Also, I don't think you're supposed to start a fire and then just go to sleep. That's a good way to die. Usually it's not a monster, but you know, bound to happen one way or another. Heh. This was solid, just needs a little polish with the gameplay is all.
