I really liked the game! The art and colors reminded me a lot of my game. Did you also use https://www.pixilart.com to make your game? I liked the interpretation of your theme a lot too. Good stuff!

This is fun! It took me way too long though because I sped through the instructions at the start and didn't realize the non-tree restorative was actually a restorative. I think having it be not blue, or just green specifically, would've made it clearer. All other harmful wastes that fall down are tinted blue.

i like the idea, im not a big fan of the collecting machine desing aaaand it crashed just before i was able to win :(

Hey !

I love this game bro , great idea! keep up...

I will be also happy if you rate my game  : /jam/stop-killing-games-game-jam/rate/3724252

The trashes are sometimes spawn at the corner that is basically impossible to catch even with the hook mechanism. Overall, quite simple yet fun gameplay, keep up the work!

Developer(+1)

I will definitely limit how far the can spawn from the player more. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I think the hook could be a little faster; besides that, it's a very fun game

Developer

Thank you! I liked your game a lot too, very memorable

Creative idea, and i love how you see the impact on the surface, well done.

Developer

Thank you!

Great game! Loved the music, the visual style, and the original idea, it was really fun to play. I did run into a bug where the claw (the part on top that collects things) went off-screen and I couldn’t bring it back. Still, super creative and enjoyable overall. Awesome work for a jam!

Developer

Thank you! The web build unfortunately had a bug that never appeared in development of the game...It never happened to me so far, but on next jams I will make sure to test out my web builds more

Submitted(+1)

Even though I encountered a bug where the claw went out of bounds and couldn't be retrieved, I still had fun playing this game

Developer

Thank you! Unfortunately, the web build has some bugs I never encountered while developing the game, but I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite them

At some point the throwing thing got stuck outside the screen, it came back on its own after a while.

One time the screen turned redish and stood that way until I restarted the page.

The throwing feels nice but some falling objects seem impossible, even if they weren't try to reduce that feeling on players.

It's too easy to click outside the screen causing getting trash.

If you are planning to continue developing the game you could consider powerups, score system, different vehicle options, levels...

Overall, Good job!

Thank you for the review!

Unfortunately the web build seems to have bugs that weren't present when I was working on the game locally. It's the first time this happened to me so I will make sure to test out the web build extensively on my next jams.

If you could help me out a bit, do you imagine levels working for this game? Right now I'm debating if I should continue the project mainly because right now the game can be beaten in 3 minutes and I'm struggling to see a path forward. I only had 5 days for this game so the game loop is extremely simple...

Submitted

If you go for the level route you could have different cities with different backgrounds and different kinds of trash, the terrain can also change a bit.

Whether to continue or not a project is always difficult, if you are not sure, you could try continuing the idea on another short jam, or maybe just give it a rest and you can take the decision later with fresh eyes.

Developer

Thanks for the tips! I will consider it

Beautiful aesthetic paired with a cool mechanic, nice!

First time I played I encountered the claw out of bounds glitch. I wasn’t able to replicate it in a second playthrough, though I did manage to send it upwards out of the screen but it always retracted so it wasn’t an issue.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you!

Add a score to the game, it will be better

good game :)

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion!

The claw launch ended up being more to manage than as a helper ooverall so I resorted to just moving the cart but i still had fun regardless. I would suggest putting gold border around the other restorative item also. I kept eating it thinking it was trash, i knew the tree was safe because of that border. But thats really all I have to say about it. The graphics were good. The music was a jam. Well done.

Developer

Thank you! I think the tree sapling's border was accidental but I will make sure to add it to more items if I will decide to continue the project. Unfortunately I had a lot of trouble with Godot's physics engine resulting in a far from perfect claw, but I'm glad you still enjoyed it overall!

Great theme. At first, I didn't notice that the trash pile was getting higher, but then I realized that the trash was covering the building. The visuals and sound are both very appropriate.

However, I found that the claw not retracting automatically made things a bit chaotic, so I ended up just moving the car directly most of the time.

Oh, and I also encountered a bug where the claw somehow ran out of the screen.

Developer

Hi, thanks for the review! I made the player control the retraction to give more control of how far you want it to go. Now that I think about it making it retract if an object is caught isn't a bad idea overall.

I have a question about the bug though, many people reported it but I cannot seem to replicate it for myself. Was there a specific thing you did before the bug happened?

Submitted

When you move the car and throw the clamp at the same time, and they are both moving in the same direction.

I tried it again and found that when they both move to the right at the same time and the car is in the right half of the screen, it is easy to throw the clamp out of the screen.

I liked the controls and the overall gameloop

Great game, even though it can get a bit monotone.

I liked the graphics and the theme, especially the colours.

Had this fun bug while I was playing though.

nice game. there some problems with controls, it can get stuck out side of camera

Developer

Hi, thanks for the comment! Could you elaborate on the problem a bit more? I never had any issues like that

(+1)

some how I manage to throw hand on my right side outside of screen.  Then I couldn't call it back, like some thing was holding it. I have theory that it get stuck on ground corner. If I remember correctly I was pushing mouse button and slide out side of window with mouse.
I have gift for making thing stuck.

Developer(+1)

Oh there are walls set up on the sides so that the player doesn't fall. You must have shot the trash-grabber above the wall and then tried to call it back while it was past it. Yeah i didn't think about that 😅. Thanks for telling me about the issue!
