How does your game incorporate the theme?
In the game, your only lifeline is power - collect batteries to stay alive as your energy drains every second.

Did you use any sort of AI during the development of your submission?

Yes

Let's trade feedback! I submitted a project too.

  • Visual: Good use of the platform pack and the industrial pack. It feels cartoony and the jumps is floaty but it works by the theme.
  • Mechanics: The jump is floaty but works well here! I'd certainly add more abilities to the character or other powerups that drop. For example after each wave a power like a shield bubble could appear. Or an attractor that makes enemies fly away from you for some seconds. Or perhaps unlock a double-jump power up. It's alot of directions you could go.
  • Music/Audio: These are fine. Music was clear and simple.
  • Another idea: Not sure if you'll keep expanding this. But it might be interesting to try different levels with different robots. Some jump higher than others or have an ability or two. Or perhaps each robot can pertain to a different level. Like a water robot crossing underwater platforms could introduce Jellyfish enemies and environmental hazards while keeping it a platformer.

good idea well done! the gameplay loop is simple but fun. also this is the first time i heard of this engine, definitely gonna check it out!

Thank you!

Phaser is a great engine for creating 2D web-based games. The output size is small, it loads quickly, and it's perfect for game jams, as most people prefer trying out browser games instead of downloading large files from what I noticed.

I like the game I got to wave 13 and like the sound design and the look of the game all I would say was maybe the enemies get harder to avoid or take more energy as more waves pass by and also to randomize the battry locations, but ik this was a 2 day jam and i had fun with it. Good job!

Thank you! Appreciate you trying it out. I agree with all your suggestions. If there was another day, I would have definitely tried more ideas. Thank you again!

Cool game! It made me feel like I have to decide between taking hits from the baddies or going around them in order to either save time or save my energy. Perhaps a bit more randomization of the spawn locations for the energy packs? Well done!

Thank you! You got the gist of it.

Yes, I had randomization in mind, but with the time spent on game balancing and testing, I decided not to include it to avoid introducing any last-minute bugs. :) If it had been a 3-day jam, I definitely would have gone for it. Thanks again!
