Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
The Main Character (based on a Russian folk character Ilya Muromets) couldn't stand or walk for 33 years, until one day, by a miracle, he could, so he became a hero. Also the bossfight loosely fits the theme, cause you have to commit. Some secondary characters also fit it.

An interesting first game. The text skip is a bit harsh, I would have clicking and holding speed up the text, not jump to the next text. And there needs to be some indication of a successful hit. A flash, a knockback, a sound, a shake. Something.

A solid base for what could be an interesting game. Especially if you bring in more elements of the Ilya saga.

Your sense of humor shines through with the shops, cutscenes and other characters. The only note on gameplay I have that hasn't been covered by other comments is that for the boss fight is maybe make it a little smaller so that jumping over it is a viable strategy, as it is right now, the window to get on top of it (to stop it from just killing you in a corner) is far too narrow. Great job on your first jam game, good luck on your journey!

Ok, that art is CLEAN, Especially the cutscenes at the start.
And the joke about the guy being paralyzed just cuz he didnt know the controls was actually hilarious lmfao (dont sue me if i steal it C:< )

About the game, the platformer part was kinda stale, like it felt like its there just to get the player from A to B.
The enemies it comes with were no different, easily avoidable and just didnt have alot going for them.
But their art and animations were hella cool (especially the tree stump's dagger attack)

While being on the topic of platformers.. COYOTE TIME, Just need that :)

The conversations with the shop guy (forgot his name) were nice!
Speaking of the guys, again that art was also really cool! All the character sprites looked great! Not to mention the attention to detail with the falling sprite having clothes that acctually face up!

Getting on to the boss fight.. It.. was.. HARD. But in a good way. (I did beat it btw B) And no, you didnt waste my time!)

I loved the temperature mechanic, it was actually unique and fun!
Though the boss cornering me with nowhere to run but get crushed was kinda annoying xD

Still tho, it was a really well made fight! Though Id say the second phase which started from 560 degree i think, was the hardest for me. The later phases were much easier to dodge (i dont even know why, but they reallly were)

Btw, when not in full screen, the resolution is off, its fine when in full screen tho

Great game! and Good job :D

the art style and combat are cery good! couldn't pass through the boss fight, but i think it's a skill issue. Also not sure if you can use music from other places if it isn't free.

Thank you! I don't think Toby Fox would mind, and I don't really count on winning anything anyway, so a little rule breaking won't hurt.
