Newbie?

Experienced

Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
I tried to incorporate it into the story/theme for the game, with the confidence mechanic rewarding players for just getting started with the challenges (hesitation could lead to losing).

Love your submission!

But I see some things I'd think would improve the experience a bit.

1 Encountered multiple times where the jump input wasnt registered or maybe theres a jumping cooldown. If its a bug and the input was accidently ignored fix it, if its a cooldown maybe you could visualize it.

2 I love it that there are plenty of checkpoints, but maybe they could also be visualized, like in super mario the small bowser flags

3 There was a stage where a breakable wall (even two) were behind the deplete confidence streamy thing, hard to decipher, maybe could also be more communicated to the player

But that being said, I think its a great submission and I enjoyed playing through it.

Really nice platformer. The jump does feel a little odd, not sure if a delay in allowed inputs or when the jump goes off. The sprite is cool and I like the mechanic of managing something to be able to platform.

This is good. I love the "confidence part." It feels great. The jumping needs some tweaking, it's very delayed input. The girls animation and style is awesome. This was very good..

Such slippery ground and sticky moving platforms, a nightmare difficulty indeed :D. Nice character art! the floaty jump also match the character design imo. there's quite number of skills and also a "boss" to kill. Nice job!
