With the recent news that Itch.io may begin banning NSFW games, the Lesbian Academy team has decided to create a SubscribeStar account.

For those who may not know, both Itch.io and Steam have started cracking down on adult NSFW content—either by banning games outright or making them harder to find. Unfortunately, this is largely due to pressure from payment processors like VISA and Mastercard, which we believe is unfair to independent NSFW creators.

This news is deeply disappointing to all of us at MoonaMakesGames. We were experiencing strong growth on Itch.io and had plans to release Lesbian Academy on Steam as well. That’s why we’re taking steps now to ensure the project has a stable future—by moving to SubscribeStar.

So what does this mean for Lesbian Academy?
We’re not stopping. In fact, we’re having an incredible time building the game and seeing all of you enjoy it means the world to us! We’re currently preparing to release Week 4 very soon. The only big question is: how do we continue distributing the game safely and reliably?

That’s where SubscribeStar comes in. On our SubscribeStar page, we’ll be posting regular updates about the game, asking for community feedback, and keeping you all in the loop. Supporting us financially is appreciated but never required. A free version will always be available for those who just want to follow along and stay updated. With your help, we hope to keep Lesbian Academy growing and reaching new audiences.

To clarify, we are not going to stop updating our ITCH page. We will continue to do so for as long as we are allowed. We'd also like to emphasize that Lesbian Academy does NOT violate any guidelines from ITCH, VISA, or MasterCard. But, this doesn't guarantee our safety.
