Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
The game takes place at the start of emergence of plants and animals on land! (You might also have to start over few times due to difficulty, heh).

Love this one. The claws and legs on the player are perfect, the buzzing as the dragonflies approach you is ominous, and the procedurally generated world is super impressive. I fell through the ground a few times and the movement sound becomes a bit grating after a while would be my only notes, overall this is a super solid submission I had a lot of fun with.

The visuals are so awesome, I really loved the little crab legs in first person mode! Overall presentation was great. I had a hard time seeing the algoblobs from time to time, but the core gameplay was still fun.

Nice game! I liked the visuals and really enjoyed playing it

pixel 3d game is not a common thing you see in this jam , it has it own kind of style which makes it standout in some way , the movement of the crab is way better than i thought . the sound design is also very nice.

I love the leg physics! I like how  you can use the traps to your advantage. The sound design makes this way scarier than it looks lol. ( the fish made me jump ) Great work!

Happy that my running-away-from-island preventive measures work :D. Thanks for playing :)

so cool

Cool game! Loved the walk animation as the crab and the cloud of ash coming from the volcano was a neat way to check how much time was left. My favorite thing though was probably figuring out (because of the sound of the traps going off in the distance) that you could lead the dragonflies into the plants and trap them. My only wish was if the orbs were more visible. All in all great game.

When I read through the tutorial I was like "hu why the heck does this sound like a horror game?" and sure as hell I got spooked lmao. Very cool but weird graphics too, I love the old-school console vibe :D Also as someone who really wants to get into procedural animation, the crab leg animation immediately caught my eye, very impressive!

I only wish the locations and orbs would be a little more visible when running around the map, I was constantly bunny hopping and barely saw any. Oh and also maybe some explanation for how to deal with those evil cube formations around the orbs, I didn't manage to get close enough to an orb when there were these formations that killed me. No clue what to do there.

Overall very cool game!

I was wondering whether procedural leg animation was worth spending time on, but i guess it was :D. In terms of "cube formations", those are teeth of a worm that jumps up to eat whatever tries to take the bait (orb). You may see extended worms across the map, because dragonflies can also trigger them! Thanks for playing the game :)

Not sure how to win but this weird crab sure is ballin with those orbs !
That's a really nice game, the fact that you had the time to implement procedural animation and generation in a jam game is crazy !

Developer

I might have forgotten to put some introductory text in the beginning of the game, I guess info in tutorial might not be enough. Well, simply you need to collect enough orbs (10) and put them in your burrow evading dangers. After you do that you just need to hide before ash cloud comes :). Thanks for playing!

ah ok I understood that but what I missed is the number of orbs you have collected. The game is missing a counter I think

Developer

Well, there is a progress bar at the bottom, though it could be more visible I suppose.

Oh yeah I didn't notice it, it is very low opacity but now that you mention it I feel dumb

i love the pixelated 3D style but man dragonflies and plants and sharks are scaring. I loved to zoom around the map.

No opinion on music or sound effects since I had to play it muted :x late hours. The world is beautiful and its truly impressive that it generates each time you play.

Thank you for providing a Linux executable! It's only lacking a web application.

Good game!

I really like the concept for the theme and the environments were very cool. I had fun exploring and trying to hide from the other creatures!

The pretty images fooled me! I wasn't expecting a horror game out of this kek. Experienced a few stutters and a freeze. Died to a really well hidden enemy once, and also on the way back died to an enemy I noticed but forgot about. Idk about making the orbs green, maybe that was the intention but costs extra brain power to find. Graphics were pretty nice, liked the audio as well.
