Experienced

Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION: it kind of fits the theme, because he just got started and went to the countryside to ponder this. also my first bitsy game, and my first good game, and my first narrative game.

Existential Crisis: The Game lol. Were you hungry when you made it? (  ≧ᗜ≦) Unintentionally funny

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing! Hope you enjoyed! (I may have been hungry when I made it lol)

I found it interesting! Some ponderous music in the background could've helped set the mood and audience expectations. Narrative games are less common in game jams so it's cool to see something different.

Also if you wanted players to stick to the path, you should've made it more clear that it was a path. It looked more like flowers in the grass or something to me!  :P Maybe just stop them from moving off the path altogether if it's gonna break the game.

If you'd had time, maybe a fishing minigame would've been appropriate gameplay to pair with the topic, but if a walking sim was your goal, that's totally valid. I like the vibe of just wandering the countryside thinkin about life

Thanks so much! I actually did think of the path kinda looking like flowers, but didn't realize it was that bad, thanks for letting me know! The thing with a fishing mini game is that bitsy (the engine I used) isn't really made for that kind of stuff, and yeah, I thought it would take away from the experience. Yeah, sound would have really made stuff better. Thanks for taking the time to play and review it!

Hummm. I was expecting more graphic for a narrative game... This is'nt really a game for me bcs if it would be an animation, it would be the same... you don't really need to act, you can't have impact on what happening... but the idea is cool. Sorry it is not my kind of game...

Developer(+1)

Tbh, not really my kind of game either lol, normally I focus on gameplay, but I wanted to make a little narrative focused walking simulator and challenge myself,  so I made it in bitsy, and basically totally ignored everything except for narrative. Thanks for playing!

I really thought it was agame about fish of theisius or something revelant to trolley problem

Developer(+1)

Nope, just something I thought of and wanted to Implement. What did you think of it?

a_polar_bear concerned about ethics of fishing? Basically a game essay. Does capture the feeling of a long thoughtful walk atleast for me

Developer

no, not really concerned about the ethics of fishing, but it was a fun thought experiment I thought of, and I wanted to explore that.  thanks for taking the time to write a comment! glad I captured the feeling of a thoughtful walk!
