Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
In the story this is your characters first training session to become a bomb defuser specialist as they are"Just Getting Started"

In the gameplay the player completes a brief introduction and then are thrown right into the chaos of a bunch of bombs and need to "Just Get Started"

Also each bomb is different and the player doesn't have time to prepare as they are under a timer and just have to pick a bomb and start somewhere.

First off: I love this game in it's entirety, I'm a sucker for escape room/puzzle solving-esque games and this absolutely killed it. The creativity for each bomb was very well done, I liked each puzzle DESPITE how hard some of them are, and the constant pressure of both the timer and the other timer-based bombs (alarm and monkey) definitely did their job (i mean you got me pulling out ms paint keep track of the clues so y'know its a good puzzle game). The story as well, I did not think there would be an elaborate story but it was very well executed, I love both endings and how you can spend the time to look for clues for the second ending. Visually too, very well done, my only criticism is maybe adding subtitles for those that are hard of hearing, and obviously more content BUT for a 10 day game jam, so well done. I'm very happy I spent the time to figure out all the bombs, and I agree with Pixel Monsoon that this game should be showed off more, it is really good :D

Thank you so much for playing! I appreciate that you enjoyed the game and got to get both endings. Shovel didn't have the chance to play unfortunately but at the very least someone else got to play the game to its entirety and enjoy it (some people don't enjoy puzzle games like this, the reading dissuades a lot of people too). If you have any more specific feedback is also much appreciated (favorite or least favorite puzzle, hardest puzzle, if the endings were satisfying, ideas for another bomb etc).

And again, thank you for completing the game and leaving such a wonderful comment! Comments like this are what keep me motivated to keep making games!

Very cool idea and an amazing game..one of the few games that shows the true potential of Godot dev and Godot engine

You have my respect :) and sorry that it has gone unnoticed in this jam

Thank you for playing! It is a shame my game is not likely to be played as there are so many submissions and my game needs to be downloaded. At least I learned a few things and to not make any executables in future jams.

Really loved the game vibes its just perfect loved the graphics its gorgeous also the music and sfx were great although i did not beat the game but will definitely come back i have some suggestions, the main menu ui design could be improved also if you could add a tutorial mid game not a voice could be easier to players to understand what to do, overall really well done game.

Thank you for playing!

The tutorial was a thing i kind of added later so it's not the best, and I didn't try to hard on the main menu (It's just godot's default button style lol). If you do come back to play, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the endings!

This is SICK! Unfortunately, I couldn't give that much time to it because it's pretty hard and I won't be able to use my computer for the next few days but I will definitely come back to beat this when I have time. This could use a few levels that get us used to a bomb and then it adds more and more. But, if were going off the theme just throwing us in is a nice way to tie that in. I think making it so you can pick up the papers to read them more clearly would make the game feel less clunky but that also added to the stress of it.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! If you do manage to beat it let me know what you think of the endings, I spent a little too long on them instead of a better tutorial. I did intentionally try to make the game kind of throw you in there but might have made it too difficult. I was thinking of allowing the player to pick up the papers but felt that it may take the player out of the immersion (and I was running out of time lol). I appreciate the feedback though. Adding a way to like manage the papers would be interesting!

Cool idea! I think a slower ease in would be nice, going from the one easy bomb immediatly to having to figure out all the complicated ones was a bit discouraging and I'd like it if there was a bit of a more consistent escalation. Balancing the monkey and the alarm was a cool layer on top of everything. Good job!

Thank you for playing! I do somewhat regret making my game so difficult/complicated as many people may not have the time to comprehend it all in a short time considering all the submissions. Appreciate the feedback!

I apologize, I could not get this game to work for me. I would click play and things would just break.... If you have a fix for this please reply and I will try again. Thank you.

Hello! As of right now I can not use my computer to try to fix anything, and im so not sure why it wouldn’t work. Some of my friends have downloaded this current version and it played fine for them, so it could be a hardware issue. Bummer that you couldn’t play it, but thanks for trying!
