How does your game fit the theme?
The whole idea of this section of the game is about "Just getting started", like a tutorial!

This game is really fun! There's a lot of cool mechanics! The first phase of the boss can be cheesed by holding down and attack but I couldn't end up getting the boss below 90 hp. The music and art fit this game great, the story is good, and overall it was a pretty great game! I loved the store with all of the references to other games!
This really reminds me of old NES games I used to play and loved! It's so fun and feels nostalgic yet fresh. Great game!
OOOO this game is awesome! I like that defending or attacking in the air just freezes your character so you can just wait for some of those platforms to appear haha! The STORE was so cool! So many awesome references! I see you included the nod to Isadora as well! The final boss sequence threw me off just slightly at first as the controls changed just slightly, but I really liked the fight! Awesome job, and would love to see this expanded!
A brilliant game, reminds me very much of the original castlevania and the orginal legend of zelda which I love very much. The mechanics, sound effects and graphics reminded me very much of that era. It played like and looked like a real early game from the mid 80s. Very nicely done. I'm unsure if this is a bug but when holding out your shield you don't fall. I say I'm unsure because I like it that way, it made the appearing and disappearing platforms easier in an interesting way. Felt like I discovered something about the character, or I just missed the dialogue for it in one section. Very nicely done a great game, good job, especially for your first jam.
Very fun game! I feel like you pulled of the 8 bit aesthetic perfectly.
Very nice game, i'm surprised by how long it is for a jam project (i didn't finish it as the stream was about to start) !
I was a bit confused by the fact that some keys change depending on the scenes, is it intentionnal ?
Yup, the main idea of the game was the limited buttons like the NES controller!
what I mean is that jump at the very beginning (even before the tutorial on how to jump) is space, then it becomes H, i got a bit confused there
Oh my... I actually have no idea what you mean with jumping with space, I've never wrote anything that uses the space key in the game, if you mean that in the epilepsy warning the game requires pressing the Enter key that was just it felt weird pressing J or any other of the action keys to continue.
maybe I hallucinated it but when you first control the character but don't know how to jump yet you can jump with spac
