Artistic Statement / Use of Theme
We often see powerful, tragic images of majestic animals like polar bears, whose seasonal habitats have disappeared entirely - but it's not only them. Animals in our backyards have their lives dramatically impacted by natural disasters, such as long term changes in temperature and water availability. In order to demonstrate this, my story is written about a normal, plain, uninteresting fish, like any you'd see in a river.
I have also mildly covered the topic of introduced organisms to a habitat and how they may be impacted by changes in weather differently than endemic organisms.
Development Summary
This game was developed by a single individual.
During the development phase, my biggest challenge was getting sick. While ill, production slowed and so I had to cut down the length of one chapter; originally far more complex with multiple variations and options, I streamlined the chapter to about 7 choices and 2 bad ends. I would have liked the original complexity, but the emotional impact remains and that is what is most important.
Release Plan
The project is tested and complete, you can play it from start to finish without any bugs.
I will continue to update it:
- I will do another hard edit of the text after some time away so I can analyze and makes changes with a clear viewpoint
- More UI additions and changes?
- Potentially the addition of music
- I would not mind getting an artist to make sprites or CGs, but it's doubtful for such a small, informal project

This is a really nice little game! I think the story you told is very good and the writing was beautiful, definitely the highlight of the game for me. Like the other comment already said music would be a great addition, and I would personally like the addition of art made for this game but I understand the work load that would bring considering the amount of backgrounds there are. Still, this is a great little visual novel you've made :)
This game was really beautiful. Exploring the impacts of climate change through something as small and ordinary as a fish was a creative way to go about this and I really enjoyed it. Your writing is compelling and poetic, and I ached with the fish as she struggled to understand why she was alone and the effects of climate change on her home. I think even with you having to cut down the length, the story is still very impactful. I wanted to see the fish succeed so badly despite the disaster she was experiencing, and it pained me to not be able to save her, but I think that was a really good ending to the story because it's a real effect of climate change. If you continue this I think music would benefit the story greatly and make it even better than it already is, but other than that I think you've created an absolutely beautiful game.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my story and I appreciate your feedback! I'm glad to evoke emotions (even if it's sad ones) with my writing.
Adding music was actually something intended for release, so after a bit of a break I will try to do so in the future~
