  • This game features really interesting and engaging puzzles, with well-designed introductory levels that ease players into new mechanics. The “one bullet” approach to solving each level is a clever and satisfying mechanic. It felt incredibly rewarding to line up that perfect shot and watch an entire room explode in a chain reaction. However, the absence of background music becomes noticeable over time and leaves the experience feeling a little flat. Even a simple ambient track or subtle background loop could help. Your GDD contains the essential elements but could benefit from further elaboration and more visual references, especially GIFs or images that illustrate specific mechanics in action Overall, this is a very strong start with a unique core mechanic and solid puzzle design. I’d love to see you continue developing this concept and explore how far you can push the one-bullet idea.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
Shoot the target with your gun. But aim wisely! Your number of shots is EXTREMELY limited. Use surroundings to your advantage!
Do not miss your chance to BLOW!!!

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You ONLY get ONE shot (per level)

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Feedback from actions and object interactions, probably. Just play the game! It should be pretty simple... Well, for a player — not for a solo developer at his 1st jam ever =) P.S.: Get the "one shot" reference? ;-)

Nice mechanic. One thing i didnt like was once i figured out that i had unlimit tries so i just started to try one by one instead of trying to figure the solution, basically i cheated. Maybe adding a reward system for less tries or punish the player for being lazy i dont know but that aside its a good game

Fun game, good unspoken tutorials on the mechanics!

What a cool puzzle game! We had the "only one shot" idea, too, but chose a different one because it didn't seem fun. Well there you proved us wrong, making it a puzzle does make it fun!

Developer(+1)

There are also many other good "only one shot" games in this jam. You shouldn't have feared this sub-theme.

Still, you did it anyway — with one shoe)

Awesome game. Couldn't stop playing until I beat it. Loved what you did with the last level.

YOU BETTA! Give yourself a pat on the back that was a cool little puzzle game. Love the puzzles and trying to find the unique angle to get the correct shot. Nice nod to the jam at the end! Won't spoiler it for those who haven't made it there yet! :D

Cool game!

Cool idea, I think there is one more spin needed on it. I just gave up at some point an shot every possibility until it worked :D

Really cool, reminds me of classic flash games

Gonna be honest. I just started shooting things on 17 till it worked. But I loved it! It was clever and fun. Don't worry, I didn't lose myself playing this game. :)

Finally, someone let me know he got it ;-) xD

I didn't want to punish players for shooting wrong. But I couldn't restrict them too much without breaking "only one shot" rule. I had some ideas to make it not just "trial and error", but I couldn't make them properly in time.

These were some great puzzles with good introduction to new mechanics!

Easy to understand. Fun chain reactions. Great job.

Great game, good take on the theme,

Very fun game. ofc i would like to see more levels added but with whats already in game. its very good and very intuitive.

Very cool! The chain reactions were fun and satisfying, and it was fun to look at a whole level and try to predict which box I would need to hit to get the whole chain. I'd love to play more levels of this if you add more :)

I think my only negative feedback is that the SFX could be improved. I think a lot of the satisfaction of this game comes from watching and hearing the chain reaction go off just right, and the sound effects are a little samey. Some pitch randomization would probably help, or maybe each successive chained shot could rise in pitch?

Overall great jam game ^u^

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the idea! I might add some sound randomization, if I have enough time for polishing.

I'm a bit limited, though, since I've downloaded all the sounds, not created them. So I'm not sure if I can tweak them without ruining. We'll see)

Nicely done. good job for your 1st jam. This is also my first jam too. that was really simple elegant an fun. I am excited to see where you take this if you keep working on it.

nice smart simple game! good luck!

Fun to play! And the further you go, the more challenging it becomes

Submitted(+1)

simple, good, all i like from these kinds of games!

i'd totally see more levels and more game mechanics like wormholes that teleport bullets

Developer

Thanks for the idea! Not sure I'll make it in time — I already got some other stuff in my backlog, as well as IRL... But there'll definitely be a bit more content!

Submitted(+1)

even if you don't make it in time to add stuff, your game is already pretty good!
