- I found the music to be a nice touch on the pretense of the game being about a heist, very on-the-nose selection there when getting into the game. As for the gameplay, I was quite impressed with the fact that not only did you stick to the theme with having one person take on the heist alone, but even the controls were simplified to one button input. I actually found it to be a bit more fun to play the game this way; traversing between sections, avoiding being spotted while doing my best to select the right time to switch directions to get around the entire building. I also found that your descriptors or titles for each item to be funny when encountering. It was a bit of a surprise to see one item available to steal that you wouldn't think was part of the game, but it was a hilarious addition. If possible, in regards to the music, would it be possible to have a sort of switch when getting closer to the end of the allotted time (like a sort of faster-paced tune when there's maybe 1min remaining)--even thought the timer is a good indicator, having some more music would be nice. I'm also curious to see if you have any plans to create more levels for a game like this, as I found your game to be one I'd return to and play again.

Summarize your game!
One Last Job is a stealth heist game with a twist: you communicate with the crew member using nothing but a single button. Tap to turn, hold to stop — that’s it. Guide your burglar through an art museum full of valuable loot, patrolling guards, and tight timing, all through an old, flickering monitor. You’ve got five minutes to grab enough loot to make the job worth it and get to the van before the alarm triggers. Only one button. Only one shot.
Please explain how your game fits the theme.
In many different ways, but the most obvious way is that the entire game is played using "only one" input.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I'm a new solo game developer with less than a year of experience. This is not only my first Game Jam, it is my first finished game. Before this I had never even worked in 3D. It was 100+ hours of crunch time and I learned more than I could possibly imagine by pushing myself to submit something that I feel good about.

Incredible, I wish I'd come across this sooner. The humor is top-notch (F ART was hilarious), I wish I can create something like this in the future! I made a small list with my favourite jam entries and included "One Last Job", let me know if you'd like me to remove it or change anything :3

Thank you for the kind words. You made something cute and charming. You should be proud. I hope you continue to make games. Also yes, and image does not count towards a single sentence and yes, I did pet Pico ;)
I love it so much! I didn’t expect this control scheme, but it makes the game challenging and engaging. When you fail, it always feels like it’s entirely your fault, and you keep trying again and again. Really fun!
"entirely your fault" had me rollin' 🤣 Thank you
This was so much fun! Everything was so tight, the writing, the music, the SFX, the models - I can't believe you did everything solo.
It's absolutely packed with personality, I loved all the references - I'm now absolutely kicking myself for never including Suzanne in a game, I've let the brotherhood of 3D modelling down! Museum of Art sign only picking up the 'Museum o' and leaving the rest was such a stupid joke, I'm mad I laughed at it.
Congratulations on completing your first jam and game, you absolutely crushed it! I hope you've got 100+ hours of relaxation ahead, you've well and truly earned a break.
It was all worth it. I had no idea I was capable of doing anything like this. I hope to start work on my next project soon. Still rolling around some ideas in my head.
That's awesome to hear, the game dev bug has well and truly bit, welcome brother 💚
They always get you at your last job... at least me 😂 Congrats on how you managed to incorporate Jam's theme into mechanics and story
Thank you
Nice take on the only one. The one last job and only one button. Cool. I like the art pieces too.
Thanks. Honestly, thinking of the art assets was more difficult than making them.
cool, well done
Thanks!
WOW! Really nice game. Absolutely fun! The music is intense. I like it.
I can't take credit for the music. Only how I used it.
This was seriously impressive, especially knowing it’s your first finished game and first time working in 3D, huge respect for pulling this off in a jam setting. The one-button mechanic is super clever and well executed. I loved the atmosphere and how intense it felt with just a few simple interactions. I also appreciated the little touches like the intro text and humor in the environment, it gave the game personality.
I did find myself triple-tapping a lot and totally get what someone mentioned about it getting tiring. Adding a cost to taps or rewarding precision could make for an interesting extra layer of challenge. Either way, this was a tight, polished experience and I’m excited to see what you make next. Amazing work!
You're too kind. Thank you for the feedback. It means a lot.
Absolutely beautiful submission! Really well paced. Easy to grasp, but still difficult to win (well, I won on my first attempt, but I had 4s left so I think that was just beginner's luck!)
I also enjoyed all the easter eggs and the joke with the sign at the front.
Well done!
Thank you. Your words are appreciated to a new game dev.
Super fun!!! Great attention to detail, the opening text and the text when you get busted gave such a good vibe to the game.
Thanks.
Hey, really cool game. I liked it a lot.
Thank you.
Wow, really impressive! The game has a great vibe!
Triple tapping can get a bit tiring. Perhaps deducting money for every tap would motivate me to be smarter about it. :D
Thank you very much. I panicked after compiling it the first time because my lights didn't adjust well to compatibility mode. I had to rework the whole scene that morning before submitting. The lighting is essential to the vibe.
Looted stuff worth 106597 $. Got busted exactly at the exit. You didn't mention it's a realistic simulator =)
Cool game! Really thrilling)
Crime doesn't pay!
Thanks. That's unfortunate. I once escaped at exactly 0 seconds left. Triggered the win condition mere milliseconds before being busted. I hope you had fun anyway.
I am so proud of you husband. I know this has been extremely stressful but you did a wonderful job and I couldn't be more proud. Congrats and good luck. <3
