  • Graphics, sound, and gameplay were all great. Wish there was a tutorial. This game is unique and complex. Sometimes simple levels and adding things slowly can help with this. Other then that it was adorable to play. GDD was very well done, lots of good information. But having work shown a bit more would be nice, like sprite work and break downs a little more of who did what and the idea behind it. GDD can be a great dairy or layout to reference. This game was a lot of fun once you figured it out. Also would be great with a controller!

In Frogeth, you play as a frog in a top-down grid system puzzle game. The goal is to mate with your one and only lover. Competition is high and you have to be quick before she leaves you. Use the environment and your decision making to find the best way to reach your mate quickly.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
“Only One” interpretation- You, as a frog, feel that you are the only one fit for your lover and that she is the only one fit for you. You have only one turn to reach her, otherwise she hops away to another mate.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The main menu soundtrack matches the game jam theme as C is the bass note of every chord (Cmaj7, Dm7/C, Em7(add♭6)/C, Dm7/C).

Really love the art and the music is great too! Was definitely a little confusing to figure out what to do - I think it would benefit from an easy tutorial level for dummies like me lol! :) nice work overall

Thanks for playing! :)

Not gonna lie, glad you put that video of the walkthrough in there, cause I couldn't figure out what to do even in the tutorial level. Would recommend doing some handholding on the tutorial to explain what the player can actually do, such as drop stones on top of other stones, pull boxes, and move through it's tongue.

That being said, once I saw it on the video I figured it out and could complete the other levels. Well done guys, very lovely puzzle game.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, I made the video to help people understand how to play the game, because we didn't have enough time to make a proper tutorial showing off all the actions/mechanics.
