  • Your GDD is a good starting point, but it feels quite short. Be sure to update the jam theme in both the introduction table and theme interpretation. Expanding on core elements—like including images in the art section, detailing the mechanics, and explaining UI components would help bring the design to life. A GDD can be short like an elevator pitch, but it should still answer key questions: who, what, why, when, and how. In the game, I liked the bright, bloomy aesthetic, though it made text harder to see—dialing down the bloom could help. The board game concept is strong and really feels like a physical board game. However, the game loop felt a bit long, and adding more item variety could bring more chaos and excitement. I’d love to see a multiplayer version in the future!

Summarize your game!
Step Royale is a turn-based survival strategy game where each player can perform just one action per turn—move, attack, pick up an item, or use one. Outlast AI opponents on a shifting grid, dodge deadly items, and become the last one standing.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
Players can only perform one action per turn. They can either take one step, attack, pick or use an item. Its a turn based battle royale where you eliminate your opponents one step a time until only one survive!

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Different items, tiles give you opportunity to attack your opponent in clever ways. Even though its a little clumsy but try to make different combos!
