Terrific pulpy stuff in here: the analog map, cover collage, dungeon encounters, appealing prologue etc.
This was actually one of the submissions I looked at for inspiration with my own work! I like how vivid you got with the room descriptions despite the limited space.
Glad I was a good influence! Dybbuk's is great!
Some really evocative room descriptions. Love the map. Have to echo about the vintage paper overlay. Thanks for the B&W version. Quite good all around.
I liked the premise and the map's art and colors. I found the pages for rooms 12 through 21 and the final page a bit difficult to read. The effect ends up covering some of the letters, making them difficult to read.
Excellent, this is a great old-school dungeon.
Excellent work on this. Feels very complete! I think my favorite room is the Water Cavern - giant herons are terrifying and this line made me laugh - “The toads are rubbery and bounce off the walls; aggravators clad in metal armour fare worse”
Very in keeping with the tone of Appendix N. Evocative but pithy descriptions. It has a holistic feel to it, with the encounters and hazards making sense together, while being interesting and varied. Great cover too! My only criticism is that the background is a little too dark at times, making the text hard to read.
You packed a lot of Appendix N into this and it shows. The feel does resonate with OD&D and you make a good use of space. I found the aging of the paper hard to read your wonderful text you’ve written and would perhaps increase transparency a little to increase legibility.
I really liked the story, the first paragraph in the cover is GREAT! The art has a good homemade feel to it, the only thing here that i think could get better is the marbled background in the pages, it got a little hard for me to read. Other than that, this adventure is great!!!
First rate opening paragraph. If there are any players who hear that opening introduction and aren't psyched to play, kick them out of your group: You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I think the room descriptions would benefit from being OSE-style bullet points to help a GM quickly parse what's going on in each room.
Great cover and art as well.
You were able to pack in a lot of stuff and Appendix N vibes in such a small page count. It feels like a hidden corner in the Scarlet Citadel.
This has a great atmosphere, lots of stuff happening plus PVA glue! Great crawl with an old school vibe, very nice
Terrific pulp vibe throughout, solid writing and just enough variety of things to do and explore. Awesome map. Bonus points for including lizardmen! You nailed the assignment, love this to death
Cover and map are both beautiful. Make sure the text is legible throughout and you're on to a winner. Very creative puzzles, simple to understand, and fun to play with. A few of the rooms had interesting characters that attack on sight. Would love to see more opportunities for a diversity of interactions. All in all, incredible work.
Really like the map. A little hard to read with the page background, but other than that you have a nice clean layout. I really liked the constellation trap rooms, it's the kind of trap that gives players enough indication that something is going on here and they should think before proceeding which I love!
Super-evocative. Great cover and a functional layout. Nice map, too. This is my kind of dungeon. PCs can get into a lot of trouble here, which I appreciate. I agree with other commenters: maybe turn down the contrast on the description pages' backgrounds a bit? But otherwise, I'd happily use this at my table.
I love the Ancient Aliens-vibe cover! Love the themes and the Appendix N vibes as well. I hope that there's going to be another version which is more readable, because the page background makes it a bit difficult to read. I love the amount of danger in it! OSR vibe through and through~
Cool classic dungeon crawl. Love the vibe. The background on the keyed pages makes it hard to read. Consider making a B/W version for accessibility.
Great work, really nails the style!
Really good stuff, I’m definitely going to drop this into a desert hex in my home campaign. The map is beautiful.
