  • I love puzzle games like this, a little bit frustrating, quite a bit interesting, trying to figure out how to get to the switches through trial and error. I also enjoy the basic art style that feels clean and simple, giving the player a simple overview. The sound design for each of the buttons is a nice touch, too! Things to note: It would be nice to be able to toggle the abilities with the number pad, I had to either click them or use my gaming mouse to be able to quickly toggle them in some places. At least, as an option for those that prefer to use WASD for movement. It's possible to get stuck in the 2nd level by missing the switch if you are trying to sonic through the levels. It would be nice if it showed you where you are going to magnet to in each area, like making the magnet glow a little bit, it would allow the players to plan their routes better. All in all, really well done! Keep making cool things!

Summarize your game!
What if you could only control one law of physics at a time?

You only have one law of physics active at a time.

Flux is a 2D puzzle-platformer where players must master the art of choosing the right law to apply vector forces to the player to solve each level. Gravity, magnetism, momentum, and interaction, each law can be toggled on, but activating one disables the others.
Every puzzle is a minimalist test of creativity and timing, forcing you to think not about what you can do, but what you must sacrifice to move forward.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
The player navigates each level by applying only one physics law at a time:
- Magnetism
- Momentum
- Interaction
- Gravity

with the others temporarily disabled. Mastery comes not from stacking abilities, but from knowing when and how to switch between them.

Cool Game, enjoyed every minute of it !!

The first time I've seen this concept for sure! And executed well. The mechanics felt pretty intuitive off the bat. level 2 had a little bit of jank when trying to get to the top right door. Music fit.

This is such a great concept! The level design was really good, each physics mode had clear uses and switching felt impactful; I liked that there was often multiple ways to combine/toggle between them to solve each area. The different physics modes were also just fun to play around, it never felt punishing to just try something and see where it got me.
The music and art are really clean, the minimalist styles really supported the puzzles well, I wasn't struggling to focus or see what I was aiming for at any point.
I agree that the labelling of input confused me briefly, but it did click when nothing else was working for activating the levers. I also found the controls slightly tricky to navigate, I was clicking the toggles with my mouse but that meant transition between some quickly was harder than others ( I actually didn't see that the number keys were assigned to each one when I played through, I went back and tried it with them afterwards but actually found that a bit harder to do all with one hand (didn't seem to like my num keys)), but ultimately these were really minor things.
Overall an awesome entry, I can really see how you could build off the foundations to add more levels, and clearly you've put a lot of thought into the ones you've already built! Great work by the whole team!

Loved the concept.

I didnt really understand what the "input" one did... which is probably why level 2  seemed impossible.

Thanks for the heads up, we got our files mixed.

The input/time freezes the player in place and saves your previous momentum for you. It's the only way to interact with levers once you're close enough to them.

We should have added this part to the tutorial level. I will update the game description. Thank you for the feedback.

WOW!!!!!!!!! This is a favourite of mine. Such a cool idea with lots of potential for creative levels. Nicely done!!!!!
