Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • Gameplay What an interesting game! It is a very hard one, especially considering that a judge only has 5 minutes to play. I feel like with some practice, current amount of stamina would work great, but as it is right now, it has been hard. Not impossible but hard. So I would recommend making more difficulties that you can pick in the menu. I also had a bug where it took me out of full screen after pressing Play in the menu. Your bow mechanic is clever, and I had a blast playing with it. Love different enemies and their abilities. GDD GDD is well written. I love that you included some art and animations. Your timeline is good. I would just like to see some plans for the future, how to expand the game. Art You have done an amazing job. The simplicity is great and you have chosen a good color pallette. The background is well selected and isn't too jarring or monotomous. Sound design The sound effects are perfect and fit well with the actions. Music is a bit too relaxing for the action filled game. Overall, you have done a superb job in two weeks. I see great promise in this game and hope that you will continue working on it. Keep up the good work!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
Echo Arrow is a 2D action game where you control a single arrow, time your shots to aim its direction, eliminate enemies, and survive through a total of five waves.

The Player controls a single arrow that enters a spinning state after hitting. During this state, the player can slow down the arrow’s spin and choose a new direction to launch it again. Keep hitting enemies to gain experience and level up, and obtain upgrades to face more waves of enemies.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
Unlike a typical bow that uses multiple arrows, the one in this game fires a single, unique arrow. This arrow doesn’t disappear after hitting a target — instead, it stays in play and becomes the core of your control. You’ll guide its direction to take down enemy after enemy.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
There may be a bug where time doesn't stop when you enter the upgrade selection. Tip: Aiming consumes energy, avoid holding the right mouse button for too long.

It was pretty captivating. Ended a little abruptly, I wish I could go on forever and keep upgrading lol. Relaxing music, nice palette. Good job

That was fun!
Nice idea and implementation.

Could use an up in difficulty perhaps, especially after getting the upgrade to bounce at multiple enemies.

Neat little mechanic that I hope you expand on, well done!

Thank you so much for playing~

You're right! The difficulty should scale more, so I’ve added more enemies in the later waves.
Really appreciate the feedback!
