  • The GDD is solid but would benefit from a deeper explanation of the mechanics, as well as images or concept art to provide visual context for the art direction. The introduction section could also be aligned properly for a more polished presentation. I appreciated the development timeline — it’s a great way to show transparency about how you used your time during the jam. In the game, I enjoyed the main menu’s background art, though the UI feels slightly mismatched in style. The cursor hand is a nice touch. The options button currently does nothing, and the continue button appears even before starting a game, which feels out of place. The cutscene art is impressive, and with more time, animation could elevate it further — especially if extended to combat. The combat system is fun, but the theme could be stronger if the “ONLY ONE” concept applied to the player being the last wizard as it is unclear from the cut scene. It would be cool with possibilities like card fusion or combining abilities for strategic depth for future updates. There are tons of potential for the game.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
A simple card game where you use them to do damage to enemies in an effort to defeat them.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You are the Only One who can save the land, and when battling, out of 5 cards per draw you can only choose one to use.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
This is a one man project, everything for this game was made for this game by me. Whether or not you have any fun playing this. I tried to make it enjoyable, but there are some features I think it's lacking like a shop.

Cool idea and the presentation is in the right direction. Liked the music, albeit a bit loud for my taste hehe. Like Tetra said, the card variance going from 2dmg to 50 dmg feels a bit weird to me, if I don't pull a 20 or 50 in my hand it really feels like a lost turn

I prevented the calamity yay. And the music be like Aoo aoo aoo, aoo. The bosses didn't feel any different between each other, but that probably is due to time constraints. Also here's a big problem: The card variance goes from 2 dmg to 50 dmg. When you have a damage difference that high it doesn't feel like you are manipulating the deck, it feels like you pull cards until you get the good one and win, which means there is little strategy. So for sure rebalance the cards

Developer

Thanks, yeah time constraints really put a hinderance on that. I had several plans for how to make the deck more balanced like giving you less at the beginning and having you win cards after defeating a boss, and collecting some form of currency or material that you could exchange for other cards at the shop. Not to mention the enemies were supposed to have strengths and weaknesses, but I wasn't able to implement that part in time. Thank you for giving it a shot and I'm glad you were able to finish it

I like the concept, I wish there was type weaknesses based on enemy type and your card type (similar to pokemon) because I don't think there is any difference in what skill you use. The game is also pretty easy and there isn't much point in using defensive cards. Overall a cool game but would need some more work.

I really wanted to get that implemented too but I ran out of time unfortunately. Same with the shop, there was supposed to be a place where you could spend some kind of currency to buy new, more rare cards. Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback!
