Yoo, this game is really addictive. The gameplay loop is immaculate and it’s hard to leave once you’ve gotten the hang of it.

Also the F to pay respects is just tremendous. 🫡

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah added the F to pay respects just randomly in the moment lol!

This is sooo good, I feel like I could play this for hours! (especially if you add controller support - this would be awesome on steam deck)

Developer

Ooooh i hadn't thought about that, i might look into adding controller support in an update then!

Also thanks for your comment :)

This one is my favorite so far. It's totally my type of game, the gameplay loop is perfect and I had a lot of fun playing it. Amazing work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! :D

this game is crazy good if this doesn't win ill be surprised

although it is pretty hard

Developer

Thanks a bunch! It can get a little hard sometimes due to the overall randomness of it lol!

So far, this is one of the best games in terms of replayability. You clearly have emersed the little guy theme. Fishing miningame is always a charming and welcome experience (I speak for myself since I'm a sucker for fishing games myself). Moving the cursor with the little guys in the second part feels that it can sometimes get a bit confusing, you are controlling more than one at the same time. I would suggest the shop items be a bit more together, like on a shelf, so it's easy to interact with and see them on the screen. Love the pixel art and the music for the little guys battle is also really engaging (the fart noise when missing the chest got me XD). Truly a lovely game for the little guys!

I agree, it's really amazing and has tons of replayability and can be built on quite a lot! I like the shop and how the things are spread out though, it's really aesthetically pleasing to me

Developer

The second part with the guys can get a bit much when you have a lotta little guys! I might play around a little bit with how the shop UI looks at some point after this jams over too, I'm glad you enjoyed it tho!

Thanks for commenting :D!

I have lost a good amount of time to this, and enjoyed every second. This is fantastic, a perfect little fishing game. Great stuff.

Thanks for the nice comment!

Truly a fantastic game. Absolutely fun and addicting, and I'd love to see if you continue developing the game!!

If anyone wants a strategy for advancing farther I highly recommend spending as little gold as possible, and saving up for $150 to unlock higher Rarity. Then continue doing this to get the next rarity, the higher ranking little guys are so good :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah!!! I'm so glad my balancing worked out!

That's exactly what I wanted the player to do! Upgrading rarity is the best idea!, thanks so much for commenting!

(Highly recommend looking at the shopkeepers hints, there may be some good stuff in there)

Submitted(+1)

I'll take a look at the shop hints next time!!! I just finished playing again hehe ^>^

I want to recommend (if you continue building the game) to make flying units pass over rocks and little guys themselves. The collisions weren't really making sense with them and it made the very cute Little Koog guy or whatever (dog w/ bow :3 ) not as fun to play, but I LOVED the feature (I dont wanna spoil in comments haha)

For that above reason, it made the "my real name's John McGuy" better, which essentially was the same role as the Little Koog but worked better due to not having to have a reliable flying mechanic as much (but they also still struggled with the collisions).

Some collision issues also applied to things like Butter guys and becomes more noticeable with the red rarity guys and on, but for Butter specifically it worked due to butter being slippery lol

Developer(+1)

Ah yeah in hindsight the flying guys really shouldn't collide with stuff on the ground should they haha

I think I'll definitely make a small update after the voting period is over - I have a few ideas on how to fix some of the collision issues too :D

Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

yayyy for future updates! And of course no problem!!! I have more mechanic/ideas for the future if and when you're ready for them as well :D

Really love this game haha

Oh wow yeah okay I see what everyone means by saying the game is addicting, took me a good moment to pull myself away from the game haha. I have no idea how you managed to think of that gameplay loop but good god is it fun. I think I played for about half an hour and had to be dragged off because of other plans but I fear how long I would have played if I didn't need to go haha. I love the splash text you get for all the little guys, chuckled at a few of them. The shopkeeper's dialogue was also really fun and I spent a couple of minutes just sitting there and reading everything they had to say. I like the each of the little guys have different stats, totally abused the sad guys and made them tank all the hits haha. Also just?? All the assets??? Are amazing?? The game is so pleasing to just look at??? Genuinely HOW did you manage to pull this off in a week, this is crazy. Only issue I had was for some reason there was two shopkeepers on my screen every time I went to the shop? Didn't actually get in the way of gameplay but it was odd. Also kind of wish there was a way to view the little guys you caught and how many of each little guy you caught.

Furthest I got was 29cm and I WILL be coming back to get even further. Further? Farther? Whichever one it is. It will be done.

Developer

Haha two shopkeepers?! Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback!

Also I did have a little plan to make a sort of logbook kinda thing where you could view every Little Guy you got, maybe I'll update it soon and add it!

This is definitely the game I sunk the most time into in this game jam xd (no pun intended)

Really addicting gameplay and the shift between play styles makes it really interesting to play. Good job :p

Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked playing it!

I had no idea my game would be addictive lol!

i like koog and the shop keeper. pretty, love the different mechanics - impressive to have so many different parts to the game for a week long game jam! the little guy command mode reminds me of vampire survivors, which is fun. sometimes it seems the coins spawn on top of a rock in the command mode, preventing you from being able to pick it up.

Ah I knew I missed something in my bug fixes! Thanks for the nice feedback!
