i like the idea in this one.

Cool idea! Could be nice if the music didnt stop for a bit when your skeleton dies, since it is part of the loop.

The concept is interesting; but the game itself is somewhat buggy. Overall not a bad submission. Very nice work!

Developer

What bugs did you notice? I plan on finishing this project after the jam, so it would help if you listed them 😁. Thanks for the review and reply!

Ah right sorry didn't elaborate. I noticed two bugs:

  • The music stops playing at some point
  • In the stage where the text says "Sorry for leaving it there" (forgot the exact wording but yeah sth like that), the box got stuck for me

Hope this helps!

As you have started a thread already, I'll add mine here too:

- On the very first level, the copy needs an additional space ("canonly")
- The pushable boxes sometimes get stuck. I had to push them from the other direction first to be able to push them in the intended direction after
- On the 5th level (where the text says "I didn't mean to leave these here"), after you pick up the "down" action, I couldn't actually fall down and got stuck, had to fully restart. After that, I've realized I should have picked up the other direction first, as that was the intended route. Not a bug per se, a restart level button would have solved the problem here.

Yeah, I knew about the boxes, just couldn't fix them on time, that's why I had a side-note part at the description, and the reset button I didn't communicate properly, I got this in another couple comments as well, will remember it for next time, since this was my first game jam😅. Thanks for the feedback!

i came here to look at sprite of skelly. i left satisfied with game and sprite of skelly.

Cool take on the "loop" theme - the game design was a very creative idea.

Love the design idea of learning movement directions & structuring puzzles around going over the same spaces with more movement possibilities, super well done!

You had cheeky text scattered all over the game, except for the part where it would have really helped (the one where you can get softlocked without pressing R)

The concept is interesting, wish there were more more puzzles

Yepp, figured it out too late, the reset thing was among the last few things I added therefore, I didn't really put much thought to it, when I should've. Put too much stuff in the "Options" tab in the main menu, which really should've been called "Help" or something else so that players would read it ahead of time 😅

Anyways, thanks for the comment, I do plan on making more leves, since level design was fun, and I intend to polish the game once the jam is done and I have more time, so feel free to check back later on🥰

Its very creative! The design decision to add the direction arrows was a very good choice in my opinion.

Yo man, i found this game really creative, one of the most creative i tried untill now for sure. I like the movement system, and the learning curve is well done. I really liked how you used the theme. WELL DONE

Looks like I wasn't the only that missed that you could reset the level. I think I'd prefer if it wasn't possible to just get stuck although that's an interesting level design puzzle I'm sure. Enjoyed the background music but maybe don't restart every time you die! Cool concept though, keep working on it :)

Developer

Thanks for the constructive criticism 🥰Yeah, that was my bad for missing that reset thing, still learning the concept of game design, I'll remember for the next time to communicate stuff with the player better. Also, with the bg music, I actually wanted it to persist across levels, just couldn't figure it out on time, and the music stopping and restarting on death was a design choice, to make death a tiny bit impactful 😁
