How does your game fit the theme?
This is a speedrunning game where you play as a spirit trying to enter heaven from purgatory. Due to its past sins it is required to collect the keys before the timer blocks access to the gate, or else it is doomed to restart the course.

Pretty fun lil game, keep up the amazing work!
Pretty fun mechanics, kind of a mini metroidvania.
I really liked the level design and felt that the gameplay and the unlocking of abilities flowed in a very organic fashion.
I did encounter a bug where I would phase and then get stuck in the platform. This required me to restart but by then I knew what to do.
Congrats on the game, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for playing! I did know about the bug but just didn't have the time to fix it, Level design ended up taking much longer than expected so it unfortunately meant i fell a bit short on some bugfixes and music/sound. Still very happy with how my first jam submission ever turned out.
Nice game, congrats !
Nice work! I got 286 seconds when I tried it. That's definitely a bit far from 120 😂
And no worries about the audio, I was fine just playing some music in another tab
Yeah... I kinda realized i made the goal a bit difficult to reach. I only really had one playtester and wanted to keep the idea of playing the game 2-3 times to fit the jam theme but 120s was definitely not enough
PurGateory is a brilliant little metroidvania. Though the concepts and mechanics are not unique, the execution is. The level design really leans into the abilities, and the difficulty sits at a very happy medium between intuitive and challenging. This is great work for a jam and but it's lack of uniqueness and visual polish make it an ok work on its own.
Thanks for the kind words! I was very inspired by how Animal Well handles its abilities and progression. I wanted to make all of the abilities accessible from the start, make the abilities easier to get when you have an ability already, and combine the abilities for the keys.
Very cute ! I'm bad for skill but your Jump is satifa
I got to what I think was a portal and couldn't get it to do anything.
You need the portal upgrade to use the portals. I wanted to make a 'dormant portal' to place where the portals are but didnt have the time to do so
