Amazing idea to encourage players to try again many times. Nowadays video games was much more easy than before because player trending to avoid game that they can't beat in one single shot. This game core concept is to restart it over and over again hundredth of times. I feel like first impression to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask which you have to restart run many time with some progress. Cool game as well.

Your Average rank is #75 in GMTK 2025! Congrats!

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with Mark that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.

This was pretty cool

(Spoilers)

The first code I found was the one from the cartridge, so I ended up doing the game after but with the dev mode enabled, but I thought it was intended hahah So when the fairy told me the code was on the cartride, I was : "well duh, that's how I ended up here" haha

Really fun game and great concept!

Reminds me of when my girfriend found the secret ending in The Witness as soon as she started playing. haha

Cool concept, brings me back to old games on Tube TVs : )

Super creative game! The main loop is really really clever. It was satisfying to figure out all the puzzles without the solution guide. Realizing the trick with the tree path was hilarious. I'd love to see more of this

Developer

Congrats on beating the game, I believe it's really tough! I would indeed like to  come back to it at some point and improve it, but not anytime soon as I'm very busy atm sadly.

Congrats on placing 5th for creativity!! Well deserved

Developer

Thanks!

So fun! This is such a great concept. The loop is a bit slow for my liking personally but what a cool concept. Some balance in there and I'll certainly keep going!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I can totally see that being an issue. I voluntarily broke the rule of "let the player get back asap to the action" to focus on the nostalgia effect with the console booting and such (seeing the same fucking logo way too many time was part of the experience).

I would be very interested in turning it into a clean, polished and well balanced 1 or 2 hours game actually. That said I have already side projects of side projects, so it's gonna take a while ahah.

It's not super bad but it can get tedious if you repeat one section lots of times, I would have liked to be able to walk faster at least. I assume this would have broken your time calculations though. Anyways. Great concept!

You're the devil for making us start over so many times! haha

Great game with great old feeling. Congrats for this Yorsh, 5stars well deserved !

Developer(+1)

I'm almost sorry :)

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

This was awesome! I felt like a genius solving this game, incredibly creative take on the theme "loop". I want more of this.

Holy This game was great. I think its the most time I ever spent on a jam game ever. like woow. would reccomend. part with 886 was hard (would never come up with this on my own) so thanks for solution. Simple idea but great execution. Audio art style I loved everything. The amount of glaze that I have for this game.

Developer

Ahah glad to hear that! Yeah 886 looked like a great idea on the moment, but really it could have been much better. Even then I had better ideas, that for some reasons I didn't went for. I should have saved more time for playstests to spot the issue (I mean, save time for playtest at all would be a start). Thanks for playing!

What a cool game, cool concept ! Nice ! I really love the aestetic :)

Submitted(+1)

Really clever concept. It is cool to actually move the device around and remove the cartridge.

Submitted(+1)

That was awesome, I really loved how many layers the game had!
It felt like a proper creepypasta experience with a ton of depth, super impressive how much gameplay you packed in.

The only thing that threw me a bit off was entering the numbers, it felt a little clunky but I get that input is limited.
Also the base 6 puzzle was tough without a calculator, maybe some extra hints from NPCs could help guide players a bit more.

Still, really cool project, great job!

Developer(+2)

For the code, it is indeed a bit annoying on keyboard, but I assumed people would use thir digits keys or numpad (which works). Thats why I focused on making the menu to work well on gamepad. Tho now that I think about it, its not obvious that you could enter numbers directly. I should have added a tuto in game :(

Yeah base 6 puzzle I kind of regret. I assumed people would use an app online to do the conversion (a bit like a crypted message), but actually it would have been more fun to have it doable by head easily once you figured it out (something like 0009=0013).

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

I never realized I could input codes with the keyboard, it's completely unintuitive given the console interface we're using to play

This was amazing! When I discovered the secret passage from Mage Village—man, that was cool. I also liked that the Black Mage will talk until the game crashes; I always thought I wasn't fast enough. There were some tricky sections where I had to look for help. For example, the cartridge code—I didn’t realize you could open it. But otherwise, I had fun playing this!

Developer

Agreed, difficulty in the later half of the game is harder than it should. I'm glad you liked it tho, thanks for the feedback!

A wonderful game full of nostalgic charm. Clearly forgot to blow the dust out of the cartridge and that why it's not working.

Developer(+2)

Ahah yes! I actually planned to add a blowing on the cartridge button, that would grant you more time before the game crashes. I lacked a bit of time for this in the end tho.

I am in love with this idea and the model of the console is so cool i wish there were more games with this visual style
