Really cool art and interesting narrative. Tho after a loop or two, the character's slow speed became a bit annoying

Cool idea, well done! I don't have much feedback, no bugs or anything like that. Sometimes the descriptions reminded me of Disco Elysium (this is a compliment). If you want, you can also try and rate my game.

Powerful take on the theme of the Jam, really evocative,  loved the art pieces and found some of their descriptions funny, well until you loop and see.

Wonderful commentary and extremely unique take on the theme. Loved everything about it, great job!

I loved the little short back stories for each of the unique art pieces (and I don't usually read all the description in the museum irl). The slow but significant progression of censorship from the museum, plus the increasingly intense language on the silver plaques gave a real sense of dread and despair.  Amazing art and great job!!

This is a very artistic and narrative game, that makes you think about censorship and separating art from the artist. really cool

I told you I would check it out because I liked the idea and I was shocked at how good it turned out. Not because of the gameplay itself, but because it was so imaginative and artistic. I really like the little stories you came up with for each statue/painting and the story about censorships. I hope you will continue working on it and publish it. (Maybe you could make a game from a completely new perspective where you manage a museum)

What a meaningful little story of censorship, art, time, and political relevance, beautiful work.

A wonderful short game. It handles some heavy themes like death, trans visibility, the French; and it does so beautifully well. The slower pace to just look at some art feels like a nice reprieve when on a long game-jam playing streak.

(Edit: It wasn't until I read through the other comments that I realized that the game does in-fact continue after the first loop around; silly me thinking different considering the theme of this year. All I can add is wow, genuinely got chills at the end. Great rates across the board)

Fascinating concept. Now I want to see more gallery-type games. Reminds me of Monster's Expedition and Namco Museum. Also reminds me of a game I want to play, Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking

While admiring the art I figured they must have been drawn by different artists because of all the different styles, so I was surprised to find out it was all you! Very impressive range and imagination.

It's fun to observe an artifact, have some thoughts about it, and then read the story behind it. Your game made me realize it's a good and simple framework for storytelling in games.

I kinda wished there was some connection between the stories. Like a linear sequence of events, told out of order because of the layout of the exhibit. Or like, some of the artists knew each other or something. Even if it was a tenuous connection, like a shared name (stole that from Calvino).

It was not immediately obvious to me that when I looped around, the museum had changed slightly. I thought I had just reached the end of the game, so I closed it, but then I read your description and went through the rest of the game.

Yeah I realize too late I should have added some kind of early indication of the changes happening ^^;

And I guess there could be some connection, but is it not better there is none? Each painting it's own story. It makes the museum feel a lil bigger even with just few displays. But I agree, I would add so much more if not for the time limit and skill needed. I am happy with what came out tho!

And thank you! I try my best to make my art skills as varied as possible.

I REALLY liked this game. I think something I would have found interesting to add would have been if not all of the painting's disappearances would have been explained, but if instead descriptions would have been softened or removed, to make pieces more ambiguos over time, before removing them entirely. (Maybe I also just missed this happening) And maybe even replacing them with more "traditional art" over time. Super cool idea, I think super relevant to the current time. It's always super refreshing to see games like these in the jam, good luck! :D

Time, time, time limit, sadly.

I was planning to make one of the arts description change a bit right before the end, to show how the museum changes the meaning of some of the pieces to align them with the events happening outside. In spite of artists who were against that. But I think it took too much attention away from the museum too early, could have made players confused, and or could have been missed unless I made some visual change to bring players attention. But that requires more resources and time.

Maybe in far away future remake of this game, who knows!

Ah I see, yeah I totally get that! But it's a wonderful game regardless of that :D

laughed out loud at the description of Death of God.  loved my time here. would like to see more areas before it loops back around, maybe with each piece changing slightly a few times before fully looping back?

Developer

Only so much I could add in such short time, But I am happy ya enjoyed ya time at the museum!

For sure, totally understandable. Just an idea I wanted to offer

Developer

Then again, ya do loop through the museum quite few times before reaching the end credits, the bigger the Museum, the longer the walk, and we got only so much time to keep people's attention. Which is why I decided on only 7 paintings. Maybe in distant future I will make a remake with much longer halls and much more stuff to admire ^w^
