Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous.

  • Your GDD is a bit difficult to read with the font choice, but overall it describes the game accurately and is clear and concise. The game is a pretty fun little demo! I like the choice of spells with their varying attributes and cost, they change gameplay pretty significantly and makes the one choice you make really matter. The hitboxes on the player character and the enemies seem to be a bit large, it's very easy to get caught off guard by an enemy and then get stuck on them because of your, and their, large hitbox. The camera is a bit off to the left which makes for a cool starting cinematic view but I feel like the game would play better if the character were centered on the screen. The art is simple, yet expressive and the music stays fun to listen to despite its short length! You could definitely expand on this game by adding more visual feedback such as when an enemy is frozen but not dead yet, because that was a little confusing to me at first how they would come back to life. Overall, solid little demo that holds a lot of potential! Good job and I hope to see more!

I played probably for way too long, 25 minutes or so. I played with the necromancer spell, and enjoyed the jank more than I should have. there is a legitimate strategy on how your revived enemies push you around in a counter clockwise circle, and if you can get stuck in between them and the power ups you have a safe spot for a while. I really dont know what the left 2 upgrades do but I bought the middle one about 30 times. The right upgrade you can walk through which was kinda weird but it helps with making loops around the middle. I had to mute the sounds because it became unbearable when hitting a boss. The game doesn't really get harder at all just remains pretty easy

the far left one increases the amount of times it can go through an enemy and the far right one increases mana per second

Funny enemies design) Try giving them some visual effect for taking damage — not just for applying elemental effect. You can't tell if you're actually killing them or not.

Also the sound bugs sometimes. Seems like the music turns on several times simultaniously. At least when the boss appears.

yeaaaa uh i cant "exactly" do that

Developer

sfx i mean but i added a visual effect

I don't know construct 3 but there definitely should be a way to limit the amount of audio tracks playing, you should look up a guide

Developer

oh there is buttttttt i accidentaly made it so that the hurt effect is also the song and i didnt have time to fix it sooooooo

One spell is a good theme. I think the damage wasn't working against the player or something. The enemies kept pushing me around, and also didn't seem like they were dying.

Developer

oh they die they just have a bit of health and they can kill you
