Very good idea! ctrl isn't a good choice for button inputs, I have a problem where ctrl+w closed the window so I have to restart the whole game...

Developer

Yikes, that's a good point. I usually use Ctrl and Space but I guess I also made Ctrl and W a possible option which as you say is catastrophic on the Web.

This is impressively polished, well done! Cute designs and great tunes! I love the different play styles for the different instruments, and the retry button is a great touch for the times when I messed up early (the retry sound got grating for me after using that button a lot though!) Also, I'd be curious to know if others found the first two notes of the second guitar on the first level weirdly hard. I spent a lot of time stuck there, then breezed past the rest of the level. Pretty minor issue for a game made in 48 hours. Absolutely incredible work for a solo project!

Thanks for the well considered review and constructive cricism!

I am terrible at it, but I really like the idea - especially the way it keeps the player inputs from previous instruments when you're working on the later ones. :) Really cool interpretation of the theme!

I love a good music game. It was hard at first, but once you get used to the controls you can really get into the game's mechanics. I also love that any impromptu beat remains in the final playback.

Great game! I would have loved no music to start with, then adding in each section would give reveal the full song at the end, but having a backing track does make sense too, loved it, good luck!

Developer

Yeah a good suggestion. You can actually sort of simulate this by turning off the background music in the settings. I just tried it with only the in-game music notes and it feels kind of flat and empty, even at the end.

Very fun! I'd love to play a full game with more levels! Keep it up!

Absolutely loved the concept. I want to keep playing forever. Best game so far.

Developer

Thanks so much for saying this!

Very neat concept, like a mix of Bit Trip Runner and Guitar Hero. I like how it's framed as a collaborative effort between multiple characters.

Such a fun and cute game! I love how it keeps all of the players' inputs even if some of them aren't intended by the game.

Developer

Thankyou! I'm glad you discovered that little creative element.
