Ranked from 20 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
Notes are spinning on a looping disc, and the disc itself loops and stutters!

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
Orbitron and Akashi fonts. Other than that, all music, art, and programming is our own.

(Optional) What would you like to be called if GMTK features your game?
Zeo, Sean, vincells, Teno, and blank3times. (If that's too long, "Rise and Brine" is an acceptable alternative name for our group.)

Your Average rank is #207 in GMTK 2025! Congrats!

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with Mark that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.

Cool idea, and also feels pretty satisfying to play.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, enough that I dug out my modified Wii DJ Hero controller that has a microcontroller inside and appears as a controller. With a bit of code to translate the buttons to keypresses and turning my monitor on the side I was able to play. I think it introduced a tad too much lag (or my timing is that bad) but I was able to get into the rhythm eventually. I need a solution for the second level though with four buttons as there are only three on the turntable.

I'll write up a blog post and link it here if I remember.

My only suggestion (which I think would help with keyboards too) is to move the target to the side rather than the top. That way you're using left/right position of the buttons as much as the letters - I had to think whether top was F or J. Turning my monitor portrait helped a lot.

woah, amazing dedication!! I’d love to read that blog post, heh.

Also, we totally get you on the input orientation thing. In a future update, we’ll be adding an option to move the input bar to anywhere on the record, including horizontal. Thank you for playing and thanks for the feedback!!

I'm going to paste my comment on discord here lel

I like how the later music chosen feels in line with the looping mechanic gimmick, i always imagined that its the dj screeching and reversing the disc everytime that happend (probably intentional) so maybe some subtle screetching sound effect could happen whenever it loops, though idk if that'll be annoying or not

Also, the last two songs absolutely destroyed me, probably the combination of the notes coming horizontally instead of vertically, the different note speed of each line (due to how the logic of rotating a point on a disc work), and skill issue.

i wonder if it would be better if the colour coding was done similar to notitg's (the type of note) rather than depending on the lines, because i struggled determining the timing of the notes more than i am distinguishing which note came from which lane

As a rhythm game player, I enjoyed the game and challenge that it came with. Being able to adapt to the loop is a fun mechanic to play around. Two main things I'd love to see in the next iteration are visual effects (feedback how close you were to nailing the note, which helps with keeping on timing), and the judgment line be horizontal instead of vertically on top. The vertical layout is ok, but is not as intuitive, unless you map the keys vertically on the keyboard as well. Other than those, great sound track and concept! Would love to see where it goes from here :)

I very much LOVE the concept here! My only criticisms are the lack of responsiveness of the controls and the visual confusion of the note bar being vertical, but I can imagine that's hard to perfect for a jam game. The idea of looping segments of both the song and the notes associated with it is very cool, though!
