I finally found a game that had a similar idea to mine a month after the jam lol

Your Average rank is #210 in GMTK 2025! Congrats!

Here is the link with all the rankings:

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with Mark that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.

A very neat little concept, just wish there was an indicator at the start as I am blind as hell sometimes

Cool game

I first I was like : I don't understand a single thing. Then I got it. And it was just amazing chaos. Great job !

Developer

Haha, I am glad you eventually figured out the chaotic nature of the game

(+2)

Wow! I really hope this ends up in the winners!

Developer(+1)

That is so kind haha! I am glad you loved it. We have our fingers crossed as well, but there are too many amazing games this year :))

Submitted(+2)

Deeply creative game what an idea, definitely has the potential to be developed into more with more polish and more attacks and more arenas.

Developer

I am glad you liked the idea! Originally we did want multiple weapons (crossbows, swords, etc...) but it was eventually iceboxed because we just did not have time hehe. But yeah looking forward to what the game could be post jam

Submitted(+2)

Loved the graphics!

Developer

A lot of that is thanks to the Kenney team, where we got the assets from :)

Submitted(+2)

Really cool mechanic and great premise with the gladiatoral arena to justify the bloodshed!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We thought the game mechanic really was best portrayed by the absurdist concept of Romans discovering conscience and advanced temporal technology to create like a Mickey 17 esque gladiatorial system

There's another game with the same idea called kill over. Loved both games the idea is really fun and cool!

Developer(+1)

Yes! Killover is absolutely amazing. I brainstormed hard to make something relatively unique, but I guess overlapping concepts over 10k games is inevitable haha

Submitted(+2)

A jam buddy told me, I love it hahahahaha!!!!

Developer

Thanks to you and your team :) I am happy you liked the game

Submitted(+2)

i love it , art and animation it's nice, good work!

Developer

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the game

Submitted(+2)

Woow!! So cool!!! I loved it! I got in the top 10 (it was a great surprise to see you implemented a leaderboard for a game jam lol). The only downside is that it's too short... i want to play more of it!

Developer

Haha I am glad you enjoyed the game. We are looking towards adding an endless mode for the game (no leaderboard or lives_ after the game jam ends :)

Submitted(+2)

Nice game! reminds of last year's theme "roles reversed". I made it to top 10!

Developer(+1)

Yeah we actually took some inspiration from UVSU, which was one of the winners of the Roles Reversed jam, but wanted to create something more chaotic and fast-paced than methodical. Congrats to making it to the top 10 :)

loved the game !

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and I am glad you enjoyed it :)

I love how the bloodlust/attention meter encourages the player to create dangerous scenarios. It's faster (and therefore more points?) to snipe other clones with your spear, eventually resulting in a bullet-hell situation. It makes for a much more interesting game than always killing your past selves point-blank.

I would love to see attacks telegraphed preemptively, like getting a warning of the direction a gladiator will throw the spear half a second beforehand. Currently, I often die adjacent to attacks I forgot I recorded!

Super creative and fun :) Congrats on getting a leaderboard in too, that's not easy for a game jam.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, you are too kind! Yeah I think the addition of a time-based mechanic really helped improve the idea. I am so happy you picked up on the nuances of the design! Would have been great to have more time to implement more player feedback to communicate everything that is happening haha

I was just about to type up my comment, but Signol_Games really nailed my exact thoughts here. Great job!

10/10, never would have thought the best AI would be myself.

Developer(+1)

That meme perfectly captures the vibe of our game haha. I am happy you liked the loop of battling yourself :)

Submitted(+1)

I really liked how it ramped up in the end, it would be great if it went on for longer!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game! The game actually has infinite rounds as long as you don't lose all your chances from failing loops (you start with 5). But yeah, adding an infinite mode without limited number of chances would be really fun!
