As an Italian, I grinned as soon as I saw your cover art :D The game is really polished for a jam and I love the little themed SFX playing whenever a suit is played. Great job!

Fun game! A little bit confusing at start, but really enjoyed after I got the hang of it 💪

The gameplay is well thought-out and the animationas and art are both amazingly polished, my only qualm is the lack of audio volume adjustment. (the coin sound does something to my brain).

Developer

As well thought-out as your wonderful comment I hope! The qualm I hope you were able to persevere through, as I have no qualms with you!

Hey man, i don't know if you will see this because you are so famous now on itch.io but the game is fun and engaging even for someone who doesn't play much card games. It has a nice style and it is very easy to pick up and play. The tutorial is also clear and concise.

My fame is but a speck of dust in comparison to my appreciation for this lovely comment.
May your days be filled with sunshine, and your nights abundant in slumber.

This was a 5 in creativity for me, designing card games is HARD and I think you made a very interesting game that fits well in the Loop theme. In case feedback is useful, I did feel overwhelmed by the amount of choices, and the feeling that I was about to lose the next round because of my card choices in the past was not the best! Still, I really enjoyed it and I would’ve given 5 stars again if originilaty was a category!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!
The 5 in creativity means a lot coming from the folks who made one of the most creative games of the Jam I've come across.
And feedback is always appreciated, especially since we plan to release a bit more polished version once the Jam is over.

Thanks for playing!

You can clearly see how much work went into this game.

The guided tutorial is really well done, the cards look beautiful, and the UI is super clean.

Facing a different opponent (each with their own quirks) every time you play a card adds a great layer of strategic depth when planning your moves.

Congrats, this is an excellent game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're overjoyed you took the time to play and comment on our first game jam entry, especially because we both gushed over how cute, polished and well rounded your own game is :> Us fellow newbies gotta stick together!

I love this concept! I feel like the opponents abilities were quite weak, would have loved to really claw for victory more each round.

Also cards are really pretty, but I had a hard time telling what suit a card was.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

We are planning on expanding the upgrade system, as well as enemy abilities, but as it happens we ran out of time for implementing it to the latest upload before the jam time was up.  Still, we will take notes on your comments, thank you for taking the time to share your input! :)

Really love the card design. Reminds of the Hungarian deck.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! While we are familiar with the Hungarian deck of cards , as it is often played in continental Croatia, the Triestine cards spoke to us a bit more, being from the coast. Both are beautiful and worth studying art-wise :>

Submitted

It was a really fun experiment and i loved the art-style. Wish you the best of luck.

Developer

Thank you so much! Best of luck to you as well!

Personally, music was distracting, I had hard times to focus on tutorial))
Some unfamiliarities make hard to grasp what is going on, I think changing suits design makes it's harder to get in the game.

Visually game is amazing, some margins for UI and cards would be appreciated.

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

Hi, I'm sorry if the suits made it harder to pick up.

To be clear, we didn't make up the suits, they're part of a popular card style in the Adriatic region of Italy and Croatia. Our artist simply brought them to life in the pixelart format!

The card style is called Triestine, named by the region where it originates from.

Thanks for your input!

Very cool game, balatro esc which i liked. Great you got a tutorial in which is something i ran out of time for

Very cool! keep up the great work

Developer

Hope the tutorial helped!
Thanks for playing!

art choice is very nice! very nice pixel art and cool game! :D pitty it doesnt play in browser, but worth the download! only need to run the exe file ! :)

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the lack of a browser version will probably hinder us quite a bit, we only learned of it's importance after the submission period was over :/
Now we're smarter for the next jam!
Thanks for downloading!

Ow, interesting idea with looping enemies, also looping same cards you place via enemies.

I think the mechanic is well designed; but the game requires some kind of incentive to keep playing other than high score. Maybe upgrades maybe other random features. The wheel can be a way to add those varieties.

Nonetheless, very cool submission, cheers <3

Developer

We wanted to add more fun upgrades, but unfortunately we didn't have time to implement them.
Hope you were still able to have a few minutes of fun!
Thanks for trying it out!

It reminded me of Balatro, my favorite game at first glance.

Developer

I love Balatro! One of my favourite games (can you tell?)
We didn't really start with the intention to make a Balatro style game, but mid-way through development I definitely caught myself thinkig "We're just making Balatro but worse aren't we?"
I hope the game turned out unique enough to not feel like just a cheap clone.
Thanks for playing!

Always nice to play fellow Godot card game!
The loop mechanic here is quite a twist, and the game is pretty enjoyable. Also the idea with upgrades is very cool - just a little something to compensate for my lack of competence 🙈🤣

I feel bad that not many people will enjoy the game - wonder why you didn't make a web build? Is it C#? Also, I don't have that fancy leaves shader I see on the screenshots. But overall the game is great and this is a solid submission!

Developer (1 edit)

Hi! Thanks for the kind words.
This is our first Game Jam and we didn't think about the benefits of making it a web build until the submission period was over :/
Sorry about the leaves shader, it was a last minute addition and we didn't want to risk it by trying to upload it.
Thanks for checking it out!

Simple game but more mechanic, I like it !!!

Loved the visuals! Looks and feels super polished! Didn't understand the gameplay in the first round, but it started to click after a couple of rounds. Unique and creative use of the theme. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your words of praise, our artist is smiling and kicking her feet rereading this rn, especially because we both really loved the artwork of your jam submission! :D

Awww, that's so sweet! And this just put the biggest smile on my face too, hehe. xD Good luck to you both!

I skipped on the rules in the beginning and couldn’t figure out how to play for a bit, but learning the game was a joy in itself. Very polished too, good job

Developer

We're glad you had fun figuring out what works and what doesn't (yet!), thank you for your nice words! :>

Love, love the cards!
