A very nice cozy game with a lot of potential! I quickly found myself stuck without money during my first game, which was a bit frustrating ^^' I think the game would benefit from having indicators for the remaining time before a tile flips over. The art style is great. Congratulations on this work!

The setting is really nice and I think it was a good idea to implement loops for the tiles in the citybuilder genre! For me the art and atmosphere is mostly there, made me play until there was nothing left to do.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2532998626 I ended the playthrough at around 5h03 sorry, forgot the starting time :(

The handdrawn style is really nice! I love how cozy it makes the game feel :D The gameplay itself was also fun, but it quickly became a bit repetitive for me. I do think there is promise here though. Perhaps with a couple more different kinds of tiles it could keep the players attention for longer. I fully understand that this was not doable for a gamejam game though XD

A second bit of feedback would be to add a bit more communication to the player about what is happening. For exampe, when forests/cities make food/money, or how long do tiles still have left before they disappear? This kind of information might help the player make their decisions better,

But still, really well done! I enjoyed this one :D

This is a cute little game, and I could see it growing into something really good. The artwork and sound are top-tier.

Improvement suggestions, if you're interested in expanding this into a full game:

  • Ability to pause time so the player can think and make decisions (and also read the "Quests" list on the side, right now time progresses so quickly that even looking at the tile choice buttons is a costly distraction)
  • Hotkeys for selecting tile types
  • More quests to complete, give me some interesting challenges!
  • Timers or other sort of indicator for how long each tile will last before reverting

I love the look and feel of this one. It took me a while to figure out that I could increase the forest or city level of a tile more than once. I got through the quests really quickly and then felt like I didn't have any direction for what to do.

Nice Catch, would you prefer if there was an icon like when you selected tiles and upgrades that indicated that you could progress them to the next stage,  that it was a "mission" (currently just tutorial under a cooler name) or both?

I feel like a mission would be the easiest way to do it. I'd be worried that an icon or like, a progress bar would mess with the visual style of the game

I ran out of money so quickly I couldn't play! But it is so so pretty the art is gorgeous, looks like Catan!

(I helped with /jam/gmtk-2025/rate/3780676 if you'd like to share the love <3 )

Yeah we should probably have set the base cost for cities to 0 . It'll be patched in the future and hope you will enjoy the sandbox mode on release :)

Honestly aesthetically it is ready to be a fully fledged game - can't wait to see it on steam in the future!
