Really cool game mechanic and love how you use the tape recorder to visualise it.  The music puzzle especially was a lot of fun.

There is a really strong visual identity too and could definitely see this being expanded into something bigger.

Thanks for taking your time and playing the game! Glad you enjoyed it!

looks fun and creative! too bad its only available on windows :/

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback! We wanted to export it on webgl but it was too huge for that so we decided to export it only for windows :)

This was a cool puzzle game. I can really see this expanded into something like Portal of Subliminal! I would really like to see more built off of the rewind mechanic, like having to time a replay to perfectly press a button right when you need it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it, and glad you loved it :)

Such a cool puzzle concept, I would definitely play a full release! I could easily see this being expanded to where you can record 2-3 separate versions of yourself, making for some really cool puzzles.

I wish there was more audible feedback for pressing a button, because sometimes I couldn't tell when a clone was actually on a button. I also think the clone might only use part of the recording? It didn't seem like the clone was fully mirroring my actions from the entire recording.

I had a lot of fun with this, and the art style is perfect. Great job!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and kind words! I'm thrilled you enjoyed the core concept and art style. You're absolutely right about the audio feedback - I'll definitely add clearer button press sounds in the next update. The clone behavior is currently designed to record frames with some delays, so it might not record some frames that the player move, but I can see how that might feel inconsistent. Your idea about recording multiple versions is fantastic ! that could open up some really clever puzzle possibilities for a full version! Really appreciate you taking the time to share these thoughtful suggestions.

I really liked the creative puzzles and the cohesive style (and a good use of the adventure line haha).

I could see myself playing a longer version of this with more puzzles, great job!

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words! Really glad you enjoyed the puzzles and style—and that the adventure line landed well, haha! A longer version with more puzzles is a great idea; I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I expand it. Thanks for playing! :)

Couldn't play the game normally, because the recorded character don't move normally like the video you uploaded. But I could understand your idea. Nice idea.

Developer

Thank you for trying the game and for your feedback! I apologize for the character movement issues - that wasn't the intended experience. Could you tell me more about what happened? Your input will help me improve the game. Really appreciate you still understanding the core idea despite the technical problems! :)

The idea of the game is very well thought out, the puzzles are well put together, I had some difficulty here and there but overall it's a very good concept.

P.S.: If you would like to check out the game I worked on, I would be grateful 🙏 (In your free time of course)🙏

Nice game with simple puzzles and nice presentation. Puzzle with song took me a while as it was not very obvious that there is a timer and only solvable with clone.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and for your detailed feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed the presentation overall! :)

This is cool! I'm surprised nobody else really used the idea of doppelganger. Nice thinking! The game was a tad confusing but I got most of it eventually. And the graphics are amazing! Nice work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you appreciated the doppelganger concept, I was excited to explore that mechanic. Sorry to hear some parts were confusing though; if you have any specific spots that tripped you up, I'd love to hear so I can improve the clarity. And absolutely, I'd be happy to check out your game! :)

Didn't really understand unfortunately. Got stuck holding the block in the third room, with the TV, and couldn't figure out the puzzle. I sort of understood the tape recorder but it only seemed to replay the middle section instead of the whole recorded section?

Developer

Thanks for playing and sharing this feedback! You’re absolutely right about the tape recorder behavior,  The thing was that it only records frames with some delays between each frame, so it might seem that it was the middle of recorded version,  and the paper on the table was meant to hint for solving the puzzle, which was playing "Bad to the Bone" music, of course using your clone for repetitive notes :)

Love the style and creative puzzles. although i did miss the tape recorder at the start my first time playing

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! That was actually a design oversight😅 I’ll fix it after the jam so players can’t proceed without the tape recorder. Appreciate you catching that!

Submitted(+1)

we had similar ideas for our games, really good execution on yours and great style

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I just played your game too—I’m a huge fan of your work. Seriously, I’m still listening to the music… it’s that good!

Nice game! The idea is great. Also I like the style and art. Although there are few levels, I think you can expand the idea further and make some interesting puzzles with this concept. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We’re already brainstorming more puzzles, Appreciate the encouragement :)

I saw many games use this mechanic of creating a copy of ourself, but I love how you implemented the mecanic with the tape recorder !

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback, so glad you enjoyed it! :)
