Cool concept just not polished enough to truly enjoy. That is to be expected when making competing in a game jam solo, especially for your first complete game. Good work!

thank you. ps your game is so good.

Great concept! It was really challenging to formulate a plan for the levels and then actually execute it in addition to it. But the moment you get it really pays off!
I guess more easy levels in the beginning to familiarize with the mechanics would really help. But anyway I think it has potential for a longer experience!

thank you for playing. More easy levels in the beginning would be good I ran out of time. I think I will turn it into a longer experience because I have many assets I never used including a teleport and some really good feedback.

The concept for the game is great! I didn't manage to get very far as the timing required with the grapple was a bit tight. It felt a bit frustrating, when I tried to run and jump off a ledge, but just fall to my death. At first I thought the jump hitbox was to blame, but then I realized that I had sorted the abilities in wrong order. I think a unique sound effect for activating each different ability would help the player to realize what went wrong when the thing they expect didn't happen. I really like the mood of the game, simple graphics but nice looking.

I love the sound effect idea. I was thinking about another way of seeing what ability you’re using especially as you use it. thanks

Great job on your first full game!

First, for anyone who plays this after me, some notes that weren’t in the description:

  • The things you are slotting in, are abilities (like jump, toggle platforms, grapple)
  • Once slotted, press space to start the game
  • Jump ability activates on space, toggle happens automatically, and grapple is LMouse

For feedback: Obviously the stuff I put above should have been in the description or in game somehow – I almost reviewed the game as broken because I couldn’t figure out how to start.

Also, it wasn’t obvious how to play. Making some simple levels that are beatable in a few seconds that force you to use the abilities before you need to start layering them (jump into grapple) is a good way to teach the player.

All that aside however, I do really like the main mechanic. I have seen a few games where you slot abilities in a timeline, but its rare where you get to activate them yourselves. Sorta makes it like a tactics platformer. Its a little rough around the edges, but there’s something cool in there.

Great job making a full game! Don’t take my feedback too negatively, you should be very proud of making this in 3 days!

Thank you for playing. I added what you said to the description on the page. I agree totally about the short levels at the beginning. I ran out of time and ended up making the levels in the last couple hours of the jam so didn’t have time.
