Really nice concept. I had a great time playing! My only piece of feedback is that the clock should only start running after the player takes their first action.

How does your game fit the theme?
You're a detective poisoned during an investigation. Each time you die, the loop resets—giving you one minute to solve puzzles, memorize solutions, and carry one item forward before the poison takes you again.

This game feels extremely polished for a gam jam entry! The atmosphere is great, the tutorial blends extremely well with both the gameplay AND the narrative! Well done on that part. I also love the simplicity of the controls and the minimal UI. I think holding the current item is a great choice, much better than having an inventory or just another UI element.
MINOR SPOILER WARNING!
My only complaint is that the ending feels a tiny bit rushed. I didn't understand how much time the time machine reversed and feel like it would be better to have the ending text display while still having the game screen as background (maybe even with character movement) instead of plain black. Also, maybe make the ending narrative a bit more explicit. I get that it leans into the mystery theme of it all, but I felt that I did not get 100% of the ending, with no place to get an explanation.
Great job nonetheless!!
Thank you! I'm so happy to hear that :)
About the narrative, you are totally right. Initially the game was planned to have 2 cutscenes, one at the beginning and another one at the ending.
I had half of the first cutscene done when I started thinking that there was no way I could finish both on time. It was then I had to discard them and add the black screen with plain text. It was that or nothing :/
About the storyline, I'll tell you.
**SPOILER WARNING**
During the game, you discover that the owner of the mansion (the victim), was studying different toxins, as well as his plans to use them on a massive attack. When the detective arrives to the time machine (the origin of the loops) he uses it to come back to the exact moment of the murder, to reveal the identity of the murderer. He waited for the murderer to appear but no one came. He wanted to leave but now that he knew of the evil plans of the owner of the mansion, he had to kill him, revealing that the detective was the murderer all along.
I'm sorry if it wasn't explained as good as intended.
Anyways, thank you for your comment! <3

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with "Mark" that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.
Amazing game! Loved the mystery in the narrative, very cool! The artstyle and the SFX are also top notch. One of the best submissions for sure!
Impressive, did you do this solo or do you have a team? Cause this is another level! Great example of how to integrate the theme to a game where it actually adds something valuable and how not only the mechanics but the narrative are related to it. My favorite entry so far.
Wonderful game. It feels really fluid but challenging at the same time. Loved the art and sound. At some point I was worried that dropping an item to grab something else would make me have to start over. I really enjoyed it!
So cool to see a 3D game with this level of polish as well as a complete capsular narrative!!! Very impressive and also just very fun, the respawning / starting over wasn't even annoying :D also awesome sound design!
This game is insanely good! so high polished in terms of mechanics, visuals, atmosphere, sounds, feedbacks! I just fell in love with it! Even if this is the base idea of a timeloop game where you have X time to do Y before the loop restarts, so you do Y in increments until you win, this game rolls with it and gets the most out of it. Very carefully crafted puzzles with some platforming and a banger atmosphere. I got goosebumps like almost every time the loop restarted and glock struck DONG! I also liked the green vignette filter over my sight as my time got closer, very well done how multiple things communicate to me how much time I got left, with my vision getting greeny so starts my franticness to finish the task at hand! so nice. Also the mansion feels alive and like a real location, even with game-y placed obstacles. The rainy outside area with the buttons, the gloomy red room of the mansion owner, the greenish toxic room, so much variety and memorable locations. The amount of polish is amazing. I realise the models and textures are not yours? but still the arrangement and lighting is very nice!
If I had to critique one thing is that, the parallax effect or blur effect was faulty sometimes, especially when I climbed the stairs the camera just felt out of focus. Also Design-wise, I would have preferred if my character did not carry the key around in front of him all the time, I found it to be distracting at some occasions, maybe a UI element in the bottom left of what my current equipped item is could fix that? and when the time comes to use it the character pulls it out? but maybe then the players could misunderstand that you carry over items from loop to loop... I'm sure there is a middle ground though. Anyway very nice game, I love it! Keep it up!
Wow! Thank you for your honest review, not many people take the time to write reviews like yours <3. Also, I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
About the assets, no, they are not mine. Most models are from Sketchfab, even though I had to edit or re-texture some of them. However, as you mentioned, I struggled doing the arrangement and lighting, and I'm pretty happy with the results :)
About the blur, that is actually a bug. It seems that Unity's Depth of Field on WebGL increases its intensity the lower your screen resolution is, so each player sees a different amount of blur, even blocking their sight completely when the timer hadn’t even started approaching 0. I'm not really sure about how to fix it, but anyways I discovered it once the jam ended :/
And about your recommendation about the key, you are totally right! Maybe it would be better if I added a UI icon and made the key appear once you are close to the lock, preserving it too for a few seconds when you respawn to make it clear that you kept it. I didn't think about it while programming it but you are right, thanks :)
Again, thank you for the time you took to write this comment. I wish you the best :)
Wow, super polished game! It's like a micro Outer Wilds. This has to be one of my favorites!
Fun puzzle game! Really enjoyed the set camera angles in the first room and that puzzle, and a really well designed tutorial! The signs popping out was a nice touch. I Stumbled a bit and missed the last thing to with the clock so had do redo everything again (x. Very polished on all marks and just the right amount of dialogue for this length. Impressive detective (╭ರ_•́)
What a great game! Clever puzzles and gating, no bugs, excellent atmosphere and just the right length. And you managed to tie it all together with that ending. I had a lot of fun, congrats!
Amazing game! Great visuals, a nice story with a twist and a good concept.
This was really cool, I have no idea how you managed to create this in only 96h! The game itself is super creative and great puzzles make it so fun to play!
I LOVE your game, my favourite game of all time is Little Nightmares and it reminds me of it. The visual is really good. I also like the visual part when the time runs out. The only thing I would suggest is to allow the player to either use wasd or arrow keys, I usually use arrow keys so had a bit hard time adjusting. Overall, excellent job!
