It reminded me of one of those shark games where you get bigger and bigger but with the theme very well applied.Honestly it's quite long for a jam game but i got to the end i enjoyed every moment. That's really hard to do so congrats! i really liked the more "personal"(?) story bits like the lover one or the duel. I think the way the narration appears based on what you do is really cool. So far one of the best entries i played ^^

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah, we were inspired those shark games a lot.

Great game! Bits of narration was the most impactful part for me. It's a shame I couldn't finish it. Not sure what happened - it started lagging for last 3-4 circles and then browser just popped up some little window with urls or some other stuff, might be some memory issue with my browser.  I gave it a second attempt to, maybe, make a screenshot of the problem, but, actually, were able to finish it this time. I also noticed that both times lagging happened when I circled in the area with livestock (maybe it will help in the future). Once again, loved the game! Good job!

Really amazing experience! Everything was done so well, especially the presentation and the the gameplay itself is very satisfying :D

I really enjoyed it. it was fun. the little text bits really add to the narrative! I wish with nothing left to eat Boris of Oris would end the game by eating himself, for all eternity!

It was really satisfying to circle things and see your snake really grow. I enjoyed it alot :)

I love this one! Snake meets Katamari. Everything about this is on point, the mood, music, storytelling. Great work!

Amazing work! Stellar art and narrative and a very fun gameplay loop. The story is tied up perfectly.
The text contextual popups must have been a nightmare to implement, but they are totally worth it.
The best game I've played on the jam so far!

Developer

Thank you so much! As the person who implemented the text popups, most of the work went into stressing whether my writing was good enough.

man this whole game tied together so well

Pretty awesome idea and execution! Love the games where you grow big and consume everything!

Damn, very cool concept and enchanting atmosphere. Love the storybook vibe and the way the snake looks a little like some kind of dragon. Very smooth gameplay too, great job!

Thanks for playing. We based our ouroboros on this medieval alchemist's drawing.

Super fun and addictive - I loved the art and story. Took me a while but I finally managed to finish it!

I loved the vibe!

I played through the end, and enjoyed the gameplay. Many similar games in this jam it seems, but this certainly wins in the vibe category! Well done

The gameplay was satisfying and well executed! I love the sounds and the interesting narrative which made me addicted and wanted to keep playing to see all the messages appear, however I may have gotten too greedy and tried to consume too many objects at once xD

But I was really entertained and having a blast playing this game!

That was soooo satisfying. Also story telling was clever.

OMG the gameplay was very satisfying! I really enjoyed core mechanic and SFX! Narrative was amazing, but i think it would be cool if little events like eating two dueling people would give us buff or debuff?? So gameplay wouldn't be less monotonous. But anyways i really like that the game feels complete and finished!

making the loop to eat and become bigger feels so satisfying to do. fun to play!
