How does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme because the objective of the game is to build loops of nodes.

I really liked the tutorial! The game was very clean and smooth, except that sometimes nodes wouldn't move. Would have been nice to have a point target for the graph, it would give something to compare to and let players try to optimize their points. Also the done button never worked for me, I had to keep going to the menu. Overall great game, enjoyed it!

Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I noticed that the nodes didn't work properly, but very late in the jam, so there was not much I could do about it. I suspect that it's because the connections are getting in the way, but I'll have to investigate some more. Also, I agree that it would be helpful to have a point target, I just didn't get around to adding it. I realized that the done button didn't work for some of the levels, but it wasn't too late. Hopefully, I'll be able to fix these issues in the post-jam version!

Interesting concept ! I'd like to see what would be the optimal number of points because I'm not sure how well I'm doing.

Thanks for playing Graphloop! I thought about showing a target score, but I was low on time, since I created the levels at the very end of the jam, and so I didn't have time to do that. However, I'm going to add that for the post-jam version, as well as more levels!

I like graphs, so this was an enjoyable game for me. A tutorial is nice to have (although not covering all nodes), the visual and sound design are simple yet satisfying.

It is harder to grab and move nodes that are connected. It seems that the edge (running under the node sprite to its center presumably) is consuming the mouse click events, preventing the node from registering this input.

There might be some issues with the scoring. Just by removing different edges and adding them back, I am able to get an additional score even though the graph does not change in the end. Here’s an example of level 1, where I was able to get 500 points: image.png

The Done button does not work for me on levels 2 and 3 for some reason. Didn’t try more levels because the tutorial is not skippable.

Playing the web version BTW.

Thanks for your feedback! I was hoping that I could include every node for the tutorial, but I ran out of time... For the nodes not working, I believe that you're right. For the bug in the scoring, I'd gotten that issue before, but I'm not sure why it's popping up again... I assume it's because the score is not being cleared, but I'll have to check again. I'll also try to figure out what's wrong with the done button. Also, I believe you can skip the tutorial with enter, or is that broken? I'll try to fix all of these bugs in the post-jam game!

it was extremely satisfying, the sound effects were perfect!

hey try to add secondery buttons for stuff like m3 as people who are on trackpads cant middle click

Developer

Sorry about that. I'll try to add secondary buttons for that in the post-jam version, but I'm not sure what it should be.

Interesting implementation of a graph theory. Lacks music.

Developer

Thanks! Sorry about the absence of music.. I wasn't able to find music for the game that I could use, due to copyright.
