How does your game fit the theme?
It fits the theme because your movements from the last 10 seconds get looped and a clone of you is created to help you pass the levels.

Love the visuals and audio but waiting for your past self to do all the things you did 10 seconds ago wasn't really engaging or fun

I love this take on the theme! I wish your present self could spawn in while your past self is moving around, or the past self could move a lot faster. but its a nice idea with a good execution!

so cute!! very like the environment! same as below, the loop could be shorter as the only the last second of the past matter.

Thanks! :) I originally wanted to make the player respawn at the same time as the clone but then the player would sometimes get stuck in the clone so I let the player wait until the clone is done. The reason why it‘s so long is that you first have to understand the level and I thought anything under 10 seconds wouldn‘t be enough

a simple amazing idea , a love puzzle game like this great work

really good idea, but i think it would've been better if the time until it loops was shorter. the game feels really slow because of that. you should also make it so it imediatly loops after 1, it's counterintuitive that you still have to wait a second after now.

Developer

Thanks! And yeah, but it would have been more complicated to code that the movements of the past few seconds after an undefined amount of time get replicated because I just cloned the player every frame for 10 seconds at the beginning of each level

Really a nice idea, I really like the drawings, even if they are simple, only advice would have been nice to see some effects when you reach the end of the puzzle

Really great game idea. Good job in making it in 1 day and using scratch.

Really well done, keep it up!

Very cool idea! My main critique is that I don’t like waiting for the loop to replay but I might just be impatient haha. Love the lil smily guy

The graphics, music, font, everything’s simple but put together it feels super clean and polished.
I already really liked it just from that. Great vibes and background too!

Gameplay is fun as well, just a bit annoying we can’t skip the loop.

Great job !

Hey, @XaosKing! Congrats on submitting, especially since you started really late. Quite an impressive entry considering you had even less of the original small time-constraint than everything else. First off, I'd like to congratulate you on the concept of this game. On a previous Jam I joined, the theme was 'Breaking The Loop', and some of my favorite games from the jam utilized the same mechanic as you're doing here. Super creative and original idea :)

That being said, much work can still be done on the execution. The game's pace feels a little.. janky? and the platforming feels too rough and lacking polish (Though physics can be really frustrating on Scratch, as we don't have any built-in engine).

I do like the art, it's a very 'standard' style for Scratch games. Maybe it could use a little detail, although I understand just adding content is more of a priority when you're participating in a 4 day jam, and joined late. If you had more time, I'd recommend touching up some art as well as polishing the levels a bit.

A strong start, and I'm super glad you submitted an entry :D
