If I'm playing a frustrate-y, challenge-y kinda game, one of the absolute MUSTS for me is a seamless and painless reset, and you did a great job with that here, and the design choices to keep things like the bgm consistent/uninterrupted on death, there aren't big video or audio signals, and that all kept my head level enough to just keep at it for quite a while. Nice mechanic, with the arena growing, too. Simple, but not plain simple - elegant simple.

Thank you!

That was actually very fun to play, theme is loose, the art is very plain even if you use the default square sprites you can still add some postprocessing like chromatic aberration and bloom, can help with the art. Overall I enjoyed it.

Thank you for the feedback!

With the difficulty and fast pacing, it was hard to figure out the new mechanics on the fly and it took me multiple attempts to figure out what the purple and yellow squares even did. A way to read about what each color does would've been helpful, like some small guide button? Otherwise while it's obviously really barebones, i can see how the fast paced gameplay could make for a nice addictive passtime

Thanks I was actually wondering whether to put information but I decided against it so people could find out.

Pretty fun mechanics, and a good action game! A little too brutal and could use some sort of lives system or maybe the red square freezes for a moment when the box expands but overall a really solid entry! Nice work!!

To start this game has remarkably good mobile controls. I think the game is unforgiving maybe add a life system where you have 3 chances before a game over. Honestly, pretty creative, quite entertaining for few minutes good job.

Thank you! This is actually my first game jam so I'm overjoyed to have a comment like this.

couldn't go past 20, my hand hurts lol, has my vote for replacing T-Rex on Google Chrome lol

Developer

lol maybe I made it a bit too hard...

the game is too unforviging, in an unfair way. for example teh square kills you with barely touching you, which feels wrong because it feels like it kills you without touching, making its hitbox a little bit smaller would help with that. Also the dificulty is way too high. you probably got better as you played this game for 4 days, but people who play it start from zero and don't have the skill level you ave after 4 days.

the concept is pretty good, though it doesn't fit the theme.

Yes, I was worried about the difficulty and I will make my games easier in the future.

No Way Back was really cool by the way!
