How does your game fit the theme?
In Loop Axe, the player throws a deadly boomerang axe that must complete a full loop: it must hit all enemies and return to the player to win. The gameplay and level design are entirely built around forming and completing a literal loop — throw → kill → return. If the loop is broken (missed enemies or return), the level fails. The entire challenge revolves around executing the perfect loop

The positive: I like the concept. I could see it being a mobile game with a ton of ads that could keep someone entertained while they're stuck somewhere that they don't want to be. The art is fine, nothing to write home about, but passing. The movement of the axe is believable and I like how it bounces off of the walls.

The negative: The sound was glitchy when I played in-browser. Sound effects from previous levels were getting stuck on a loop which was very annoying and ultimately made me click out of the game. The music was too intense and repetitive. I don't even think it stopped or changed when I was in the menu between levels. I was annoyed with it by level 3. The dotted line aim system didn't seem very accurate. I would've been happy to play the game without it versus trying to rely on it and having it not quite work. There was no real story to the game (which is fine for a mobile game but wasn't really up to par with some of the other games in the competition that were more engaging due to the storyline/backstory).

Over all: For what it is, the game is just fine. I wasn't excited to play more after level 2. I played through level 3 just to get a good feel for it but I wasn't excited about it. Maybe to the right audience with some small improvements, it'd be a good mobile game for ad farming.

Cool game, shield dude gives off strobe effect sometimes though.

Very satisfying when you finish a level. Definitely feels a mobile game

I can see this as a full game for mobile

This would make a great mobile game! I really enjoy the simplicity of concept and depth of possibilities. The visual style is also great! I do wish the axe throw was a bit more responsive, like the character throws a second or two after I expect.

Hi, can you please confirm whether or not the Itch.io thumbnail is made using generative AI? If it is, please remove it or else your game will be disqualified

its fun to play game

Really nice execution! Easy to understand and play, and it felt great when I landed a particularly deadly bounce combo.

Neat idea! I'm the kind of guy that tries to line up the perfect shot whenever I get preview arcs in physics games. Might be a bit too easy because the axe returns to you automatically, even through walls, but I see an interesting puzzle game in the making.

Classic boomerang banger! Loved the Thor mechanic, felt like one of those mobile games from the ads but you actually get to play it. Super satisfying, well done. Check out our game and let us know what you think with a rate. We'd love to hear your feedback :)

A bit undercooked, but for a moment I felt like a Scandinavian god! Bring me my AXE! Lot's of potential

It looks like those fake mobile game ads (don't take it in a bad way, those look good and better than the actual games :D )..
Simple and elegant. Though i encountered a lot of bugs (level won without killing all enemies, axe returning back instead of bouncing).

Very simple and easy to understand. Visuals are solid too. Great game.

Ricochet and ragdoll are always fun! :D

Good job!

Very fun! Nice to see some more mechanics mixed in, although it did still feel quite slow in general.
Overall I really enjoyed it, a short but thoughtful experience!

I'm impressed with how many different mechanics you managed to include! The gameplay is fun, though a bit too simple and slow to my taste.

This game felt kind of basic, most puzzles had really clear solutions while others didn't provide enough visual clarity to understand what was going on, such as when my axe didn't bounce off the wall like I'd expect or how I thought I had to hit the shield user in the back to kill them. Giving more visual clarity would help this game a lot while also experimenting a bit more with the puzzles could improve the longevity of content and give some satisfaction to solving the puzzle. Perhaps the axe had to be properly returned to you to complete a level with hazards that destroy the axe could make it a bit more interesting but I'm really just spitballing here.

It's a fun mechanic! I just which it was a little more puzzly or challenging

This is genuinely really fun to play! 5 stars! I think the axe movement would benefit from being a bit faster!

Developer

Okkk! I will increase the speed of that axe

Really good idea! Needs more levels and a bit more complexity perhaps
