How does your game fit the theme?
In Astral Duet, the theme of “loop” runs through everything. At its core, the two orbs—Blue and Red—move in a continuous spiral, looping around each other as they travel forward. This endless circular motion isn't just visual; it's the heart of the gameplay. You’re constantly rotating, dodging, and aiming to pass through rings, creating a satisfying, rhythmic gameplay loop. But it goes deeper. The game’s challenge is built on repetition and mastery—failing, trying again, and improving with each run. That cycle itself is a loop, drawing you back into its flow over and over. Even the story follows a looping rhythm. As you play, you hear fragments of a tale—short, poetic lines that hint at something eternal: a connection between two souls, destined to revolve around each other through space and time. So whether you’re talking about the motion, the gameplay, or the narrative, Astral Duet is built around loops—visually elegant, mechanically tight, and emotionally resonant.

Wow I found your YT comment and I'm glad I did!

Awesome on  the Narrative part, really poetic!

Such a nice vibe to the game and I LOVED the trails :D

Well done!

Very nicely done game. Quite addicting. I love how you've encorporated the theme in multiple ways. Reminds me of the multi-purpose design jam from a few years back.

Developer

thank you

If you have the time, why not check out our game as well?

I'm glad I saw your comment on YouTube and tried your game! Very cool concept (Beatsaber vibes, very cool), nice difficulty curve as well! Unfortunately I couldn't beat the 100 points challange (skill issue), but really liked your game (especially the philosopical life lesson style comments 😄)!

Developer

Glad that you liked the game. The game is inspired from "duet", a very addictive game. You should definitely check that out. And since this is my first game, I will need some time polishing this before launching it in game stores

Thank you for the recommendation, will check it out! With some more polish, I think your game has great potential (for instance, I can imagine myself regularly playing this game as a mobile game and gain more points to unlock cool stuff etc.)!

Very cool idea and interesting take on the loop theme. The game reminds alot of beat saber or dance of fire and ice. A very good game!

Developer

thank you

Unqiue take that fits the theme really well! The patterns had nice rythms to them and I especially liked when the loop pattern appeard. It's a little hard to distinquish the forward distance between the orbs and the rings because it's 3D. I think adding some indicantion in a flat 2d space(like visible droppshadows for the rings and orbs) would help with this.

Developer(+1)

yeah, it's a nice idea. I will consider this for future updates

Nice game, a bit relaxing. Good job!

It's a fun game but the 3D perspective, felt difficult to play with, when spinning the balls through the rings.

Submitted

This was really challenging for me! I can just focus on swinging side-to-side instead of rotation haha

Flawed concept in my opinion. Very easy to miss the ring because it's 3D

Developer

You can't dodge all the rings because there are spiral variations that are hard to pass through. You can keep on dodging the rings without taking risk, but by doing so, you will not get any score, any heart regen or any story progress because every progress is tied to score not to time

really fun simple little game, enjoyed playing quite a lot!

Developer

Thank you David, this is my first jam and even the first complete game. Your comment Encouraged me a lot. 😇😇

Reallyy good take on the theme and was fun, but needs more variety

Developer

thank you for your valuable suggestions. I have tried adding more patterns and moving rings but they are RNG controlled and they usually appear when you play quite long.
