The art, sound, and gameplay are really great. It was really challenging at first, but after many retries, I finally made it through.
Thanks for playing and sticking with it! <3
Nice! took me a few tries
Awesome, congrats on helping the crew escape and thanks for playing!
What a wonderful game! It took 6 or 7 attempts for me to escape - I love how you allowed me to figure out the rules for myself via each iteration of the loop, by the end it felt relatively simple but that's because I spent a few cycles figuring out how the game worked. The core gameplay loop is very solid, navigating from room to room felt very smooth, overall an excellent take on the theme and well executed.
I liked the music and the SFX, y'all did a very good job using relatively subtle but still very clear sounds to indicate when each "disaster" was occurring. The art was definitely the star of this game for me though, the room & character designs were excellent, I love the cover art, and something as small as the icons for each station were really well done.
Overall a strong contender in this game jam, would not be surprised to see y'all in the winners' circle! Congrats on a job well done!
Congrats on a successful escape! We weren't sure how many tries it would take folks, so we have lots of little voice and tip tidbits built in beyond that, too. Thanks so much for playing and for your thoughtful feedback!!
this is a really fun game!!!! a great little research mangement game with a wonderfully put together narrative. I really love the theming and the aesthetic, everything comes together so cohesively to form a super fun experience!! 10/10 game, no notes, enjoyed every second of it!!
Hooray, thank ya kindly!! We were jazzed about the narrative direction we went with, and we're glad that came through as you played, too. So thrilled you enjoyed! <3
Got it on my second try.
Very cool game. The music was nice and relaxing, and the visuals were really impressive for it being made during a jam!
Yoooo, a loop #2 win is no joke! Thanks for playing and well done!!!
Really fun and quite polished! I also love when game jam games have the theme in there on multiple levels, from the shape of the space station to the retry mechanic. Got it on my third try!
An escape on loop #3 is killer!! Thanks so much for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
Really satisfying puzzle, great music and artwork. Reminds me of escaping the ship in Wild Arms 2nd Ignition.
Thanks so much for playing!!
Really nice game overall
Thank you!
Overall: ★★★★☆
Creativity ★★★☆☆
I think the loop theme wasn't player especially well in this game, swapping characters in a loop fits, but the game itself doesn't benefit that much from either this swap or replay-loop itself. Despite saying this I see how it may work really well if the game had more levels and some of the information was hidden: for example you are required to make a deadly move to get some info that you will use in your win run and so on. Sadly right now it doesn't work that well for me (maybe cause I got everything from the 1st run, and finished a game on 2nd)
Enjoyment★★★★★
BUT THE GAME IS ABSOLUTE BLAST! Fun, short, a bit challenging, but not too much. Loved the aesthetic, loved voiced intro
Narrative ☆☆☆☆☆
Leaving empty as there is no emphasis on narrative imho
Artwork ★★★★★
This game is gorgeous from character sprite to visual changes in the environment when disaster happens. What I love the most what other games in gj are lacking is consistency, it looks like a finished product I may but on steam, and I would buy it
Audio ★★★★ ☆
BGM is nice (though I would prefer something a bit more calling to action), SFXs are actually great, missing a bit of SFX for interactable objects. Voiceover is cool!
Thanks much, loved this game
Thanks so much for playing and for such a thorough review. We're so glad you enjoyed! Out of curiosity, what suggestions do you have in mind for increasing the visibility of the narrative?
I think that it comes to length of the game after all, if it was a full game with let's say 10-15 levels you would have much more time to introduce both setting and characters (and what's important for me clearly define difference between these 4) and reason obstacles they are facing, right now it felt like reading chapter in the middle of a book from a situation-action perspective. 4 characters are percieved as one game character since they perform same function and as a result situation also feels just as a game scene with a puzzle to solve not q story
Very fun puzzle, really enjoyed some of the artwork. It made me feel great when I finally figured out how to win
Thanks so much for playing! Glad to hear you got to feel the payoff of helping the crew escape!
What a hectic puzzle! I agree with everyone, the music is superb and the setting is well framed. I liked how you juggled with the events' ordering and how crispy the controls feel
I must also agree with some other comments that it's hard to understand what to do at first. However, I'm not even sure if this is inherently wrong, given the restart process is very quick and it lends itself to trial and error. Another (perhaps) small nitpick is that I got captivated by the cover art but found it a bit clashing with the main game's style.
Overall, great entry!
Thanks for playing and for such a thoughtful review!!
Figured what to do right a way. Got it on third try. Felt really good to complete it. Nice game idea, keep it up!
Heck yeah, thanks and congrats on a speedy solve!! If you ever feel like purposefully dying in game, we have a whoooole batch of fun voice lines and end screen tips to explore.
Took some time to understand what I had to do, but I eventually got it! Really amazing game with great artwork!
Thanks for playing, so glad you enjoyed it!
It took me a whiel to understand what I was supposed to do, but now that i got it, i wish there more levels. The voice acting and narration was perfect !
Thank you so much!! We had a lot of fun building out the characters and voice lines. :D
Amazing game, I got it after 6 loops (of which 2 were me having no idea what to do, but the game teaches you pretty well).
It puts the pressure on, which I really like.
The combination of tasks is really well done, I still felt the pressure after I figured out what to do.
(The music is sublime too)
Woohoo, congrats on getting the crew out alive! The music is all our fabulous composer, Sean. If you ever feel like listening to the soundtrack on its own, you can listen here!
Really impressive, panic inducing game.
Thanks for playing! c:
Damn, you did all that in 4 days ... i'm ... soooo... impressed
Ahhhh, thank you so much!! It was truly a team effort firing on all fronts. We reached an amazing flow state with all our different strengths and synergies. Feeling super lucky I got to work with this crew. <3
I liked the Idea
Thank you!
Wow! Really well done! Had to really focus to do all the tasks and juggle who can do what. Great use of the theme, awesome art, great narrative and everything works as expected. Initially it's a little confusing on what to do...but I think that's part of the design and it's quite effective. Great job!
glad to hear that you enjoyed the game!! thank you so much for playing <3!!
It's a bit hard to understand if I'm doing things right but I like the idea and it feels good, expecially for the voice acting and the art! It's challenging, but it's a good part of the gameplay!
Feedback and confirmation were definitely things we had dreams of building out more, but had to cut back a bit due to the time constraint. Narratively, maintaining that guess-and-check confusion felt right for the crew, since they're throttled into the loop and have to fumble their way toward an escape. Thanks for playing! So glad you enjoyed it despite the intentional moments of confusion!
