Really like the art, but found jump and collision really frustrating to deal with and it didn't even feel intentional, having to hold jump and not being able to reliably know how my character would behave almost reminded me of the rage platformers.

Really liked the art style and the concept. It used the theme well.

The controls were a bit stiff, and I think a lot of it had to do with a complete lack of air control (which is odd for a bird). A lot of the platforming was made hard by needing to move a bit before jumping or you'll not be able to move, but if you move too much you'll just bounce off what you're trying to jump over.

The death animation was a bit long, especially when your life is so short. It felt like I spent more time waiting for the death animation than playing.

That said, I think you might have a nice little puzzle platformer with some polish.

Solid idea, a phoenix fits really well with the theme

However, 9 seconds per life is way too short, especially when watching the animation to respawn is almost just as long as your entire life.  If you want to keep the really short timer, I think the respawn needs to be almost instant.

Loved the theme, and it's a pretty fun game too. The one main issue I have is that I can't move when I'm in the air. This might be intentional, but I personally really don't like it.

Using a phoenix for the theme of loop is very fitting! I enjoy Ancient Egypt settings and this didn't disappoint! However, the platforming in this game felt off. The controls felt a bit janky and I wasn't change direction or move in air, which made platforming harder than it should. I did like the puzzles and vague tooltips so most of the problem-solving landed on the player. In all, great work!

Really nice art! and the concept fits the theme really well with a phoenix.

As other people mentioned, the controllers took some time to get used to. At least the jumping forward.

Nice art, but the controls are a bit finicky! also the 9 seconds is a bit short. Good work though!

Great idea!

I think 9 seconds is way too little to wrap around what's going on, especially since often things change up[on death and you lose a few seconds just by figuring out what's going on. I'd say you need to give at least 20 seconds or something? Not because you don't have enough time (you do) - just have a breath between the rebirth. Or even having a 3-5 second pause between runs would also help.

Or maybe I'm just too slow and get overwhelmed too fast :)

I played it all the way through, hoping that precisely because it was a game jam, it would have few levels. The art, but especially the concept, is quite good; however, the controls feel very clumsy, the movement physics are unintuitive, and the collisions are inaccurate. The level design leaves a bit to be desired, and the task at hand is unclear; whatever you need to complete each level gets lost in the background due to the lack of contrast, for example. It's definitely a good concept for a gamaplay loop that lacks a lot of polish. Good luck with its development ÒwÓ

My favorite game that I've played so far this jam. Love the art and game play loop, hope you stick with it. Congrats on submitting such a cool game!

Got stack at the big pit and became tired of "keep reaching for it" thanks to the slow, unskippable death animation. I had no idea what the game wanted from me. I was into it until then.

I haven't seen anyone else use a phoenix as a way to represent the loop theme yet, so super clever take on the theme!

Yooo a game about phoenixes in a loop themed jam?? Uhm yes??

The rooms and art were really cool!! The mechanics did get in the way, for example being able to change direction mid jump would make this game way more fun for the 9 seconds you get per loop.

Being THE mystical fire chicken is a great take on the theme. Managed to got all 5 smoke clouds and finish the game. Controls where a bit frustrating at times, but good enough to work with it when I finally figured out birds can fly. Music and artwork are great on this game!

The general idea seems nice, but the Rebirth-Animation should be a lot faster to decrease on a lot of downtime.

love the Egyptian theme! the controls felt a little off, especially that you can’t move after taking off was quite frustrating (e.g. when standing right in front of a wall without the option to go back)

Very cool concept using the fenix as the loop's focus! The art here is beautiful as well. I found the controls a little bit buggy, when trying to jump and move at the same time. Also the collisions were also a bit weird, around the corners.. But of course it was due to the time restrictions, and nonetheless the game is good!

a game that restarts every 9 seconds? seems crazy but it works really well. Great job!
