Nice to see a more physical interpretation of "loop"
This is a cool idea for a platformer, though the physics feel a bit unpredictable?
It's hard to really gauge my momentum and found myself either getting stuck on walls or fumbling a jump that I'd done perfectly multiple times before
Part of it might just be a readability issue. The black and white visuals are really clean, but sometimes it's hard to tell where I'm landing and makes it look like I missed a lot of jumps that I shouldn't have
Had a lot of fun. Always appreciate a physics based game and love the black and white styling. Got to Leap of Faith 2
Had some issues with the loop getting stuck in walls, rail grinds could be jittery, and sometimes the loop would swing in unexpected ways. Maybe some elasticity between the loop and the player would help?
I also specifically liked the dot in the center of the player
Wow leap of faith 2 that’s very impressive! Yeah the loop physics are a little buggy, some elasticity may help. Most of the problems come when you try to hit a hook line while traveling up after a high jump. It’s because of how the collision shapes are handled. lol I didn’t think the dot in the player would be a highlight!
Looks and sounds great and the concept is nice! I am however, did not make it past level 1 too
I keep feeling like I want the momentum to carry over better ( even if it's not realistic), so I can just keep hopping through the loops!
This is an AMAZING take on the theme, and from the gifs on the page, it looks like the level design later on is well put together and really fun. For me though, I tried for a long time, and just couldn't get past the first level. It was definitely part skill issue, but I feel that with the amount of other people having trouble, I think that it is also just quite difficult. I think I'll come back to this game after the jam's done and try some more, because I really want to see what the rest of the game has to offer, as this mechanic is so cool, but for now I just had to pause with this one and move onto other things. Also, the music and sound effects are such a bop, and despite the artwork being minimalist, I really like it as well. Really well made, I just wish it weren't so difficult at the start
Thanks for the detailed review! It definitely is a very difficult game. As the developer, I didn’t think that the first (and second) level was too hard, as it teaches all the important mechanics for future levels. But I think I could have done a better job at difficulty balancing. I will probably add a level select after the jam, and possibly make the first couple levels easier as well. I don’t want to overhaul the difficulty of the whole game however, as it’s designed to be difficult.
A fun game! I found it very difficult though, haha. Took me like, 20 minutes to finish the first level. I love the black-and-white artstyle, too :)
I really like the way this game looks and feels, even though it's pretty hard to land on the hooks sometimes. That's still a compliment though, very well done. The difficulty does not feel forced and the player is at fault 100% of the time
Really original interpretation! And the mechanic is very thought of too! And now I know I don't have a knack for swinging from hooks ahah Well done!
Very Difficult but one of the best interpretations of the theme I have scene!
