How does your game fit the theme?
It touches on the cyclical nature of the dungeon. A place that shifts and changes, where inhabitants come and go, but the darkness always remains.

Very eye candy game (haha get it the poor sod), the dungeon crawling looks very cool and the aesthetics are fantastic. The light mechanic is very cool both in its presentation and puzzles involved. I loved the dialogues especially, the minotaur took years of my life figuratively and almost literally. The puzzle was a little difficult to figure out but we eventually did, at least it's not particularly difficult to brute force but we did our best to avoid it. I'm not entirely sure how the theme really applies here as there isn't any immediately obvious looping in narrative or mechanics, but I still found it a rather cool and creative game on its own four legs. Quite enjoyed it!
Amazing art, I wont lie though I couldn't figure out the puzzle, I though Noki was what walks on four legs... or that the minotaur is what blocks your pass? wither way, couldn't find the clue for the second slot anyways. Still, the art and general charm of the environment and controls made it enjoyable!
At first, I was pretty confused at the green room puzzle since I thought I'm supposed to input the symbols for Noki and the Minotaur themselves and not the clues I learned from them. After some wandering around though, I noticed the second symbol and everything clicked into place. Soon after, I made it to the exit. The path to the door should've been a bit more visible though in my opinion.
I do wish there was some sort of alternate pacifist ending where you spare the Minotaur or try to persuade them into letting you pass through; I think that would make the game a bit more interesting. The camera rotation was also slightly disorienting to get used to, but it was mostly fine.
Overall, the dialogue system is very well-made, the story is cool, and the concept could be expanded by having more rooms after the initial one that require different flame colours to activate (that way, you'd have to use the lantern more).
Very cool and unique game. The art looks amazing. Very cool puzzle too I enjoyed playing it a lot actually!
Super nice art and vibe. I enjoyed my time with it.
I had a hard time with the puzzle but eventually got it. I thought the writing on the wall corresponded with one of the icons directly without the extra step of finding another clue. Which lead to a lot of unnecessary logic and trying combinations. I still don't know what the second icon represented and the third one I do know but was pretty unclear.
I was never sure if I was supposed to walk into the dark areas or not. I didn't find the second clue until after I had unlocked the panel and went looking for it. Then near the end I thought I soft locked myself being lost in the darkness past the minotaur with the red lantern on.
I liked this dungeon crawler :) It was fun to play (Felt a little sad for the Minotaur, actually).
This being a dungeon crawler, I actually looked for Q and E key functionality - they are used to turn your character, while WASD controls are for moving & strafing. This game didn't quite needed it though.
Got a little bug with some tiles, I could walk into the walls, which slightly glitched room visibility... - got it in the red area, heading towards the exit door. It didn't broke the game that bad, I was able to recover - but I don't know how it happens or its extent.
Cheers!
Thanks for playing! Nice to hear that our characters made some emotions come out :),
While making the movement I thought about the Q and E but didn't really see the point adding them. Glad to hear it was a right call. And yeah we forgot some colliders on the walls xd.
Really awesome art and atmosphere. Some nice little puzzle designs that weren't overly convoluted. I'm glad I was able to save the kitty :)
Glad to hear the atmosphere fit in! At first I wrote that after leaving the dungeon you would hear the kitty scratching the door but I'm glad it was rewritten.
Great atmosphere! Had me feeling a little tense the whole time
Nice to hear that we accomplished what we wanted! Thanks for checking it out and playing.
I was shock by the atmosphere!
The only thing I would add is a tutorial to make it a bit more clear
Nice game! Very cool atmosphere and audio.
Really cool take on the concept and great artwork. Its odd, but in a very good puzzle sort of way. well done.
amazing artwork! i did my best to get through everything but i fear i may be too stupid to get through the puzzle with the lock, that or i missed something but very well done!
Great atmosphere, was fun finding the mysteries! I went and attacked the minotaur in the dark, did not expect to be able to talk with him in the dark. Same as other commenters, I wanted to accelerate dialogs and ended up attacking directly!
I managed to complete the puzzle with the symbols, was not too difficult and quite interesting.
Yeah sadly I didn't have enough time to change the line skipping to work in the best possible way. But glad to hear you enjoyed the puzzle! Thanks a lot for playing.
I'm probably too much of a wimp for this kind of games but the atmosphere and style here is great! Good job on that. It would be cool to speed up text without skipping the whole line.
The concept of different lanterns allowing you to see only certain parts of the dungeon is very unique, and am sure could be expanded to make a lot of very interesting puzzles in the future - excited to see where the game goes! Also the atmosphere created with the art and the audio fits the game perfectly. Only complaint for me is that the password puzzle didn't make much sense to me besides the middle symbol, even though I knew what the hints referred to, so I ended up just brute forcing the last two.
Overall, a great game and really impressive work for only 96 hours!
Fun small, but creepy game! Love the concepts on how the colored paths can open and change certain paths in the game. It might be something you can also use to affect the mood of the enemies or NPC in a dungeon. Either way, can't wait to see where you bring the game to next :)
I like thegame alot but it is so creepy I decided to close it :sob:
I really enjoyed it! The only thing I would add is a tutorial to make it a bit more clear to the player but all in all, Well Done!
The different lamps lighting different paths is pretty unique, I wouldn't have thought of that myself! That being said, I wasn't sure what I was doing half of the time was the right course of action to take, and was just wandering aimlessly (in the dark). I ended up somehow progressing and getting stuck in the puzzle. I was tempted to bruteforce it but I felt i should solve it properly first, but after I couldn't find the other two symbols I just gave up halfway and bruteforced it to progress . Regardless, the atmosphere is eerie and ominous, done well by the need to walk into unlit rooms for clues! I only wish that I was made aware what I was supposed to do! Either way, congratulations on getting a game out!
Wow amazing atmosphere, shout out Joni!
