I really like this idea. In Sisyphus' loop, the stone remains unchanged and neither does the world. It's just like when I was a child, I made a wish to change the world, and the world has little to do with me trapped in the ordinary loop. But in the loop, Sisyphus grew muscle, changed himself, and I also learned more and gained a deeper understanding of the world. I feel that I am happy

That's a great way to put in words! :)

Brilliant idea! The game really stands out from other incremental games due to its unique theme and creative execution. Also love the aesthetics!

I see a fellow Camus enjoyer, I like!

Great art.

This is a super cool concept! I loved the part where it put you in the Godot engine lol

Beautiful artwork! Well done!

This is awesome! As a fellow Godot engine enjoyer (who also made a Sisyphus-based game haha), I loved the animations and audio. It's been a while since I played a clicker-style game, this brought back that nostalgic feeling, and I loved the tricks mechanic. Excellent work!

The level change to the game editor made me laugh out loud xD so fun!!

Developer

Thank you! This transition was actually the starting idea, and the rest was a collective brainstorm of how to make this transition make sense :)

The concept of having an Idle with actual input is brilliant, and the subversion at the end is really funny

This is such a fun concept. It gets pretty hectic, pretty fast. Great work!

Never expected to see Zagreus donate to my stream. :D I am really curious how much time you spent writing the comments, haha.

I like the presentation and the humor. The gameplay is a bit repetitive, but when you get in the zone, it hooks you up. The only thing I am not really a fan of is combining typing whole words and having to click with the mouse to push the boulder. It hurt! :D As a concept, adding whole words to the mix really threw me off guard (in a good way) though!

Well done!

Thank you!

Yep, I just stopped clicking on typing rounds :D

Haha, okay, my strategy was then correct :D

As for the comments, they are actually not too long to write, maybe 3-4 hours. I divided comments into 5 categories - success, failure, comment, donation and random. I started with 10 per category, but it ended up being too repetitive. So I ended up doing ~30 different comments for each category, also divided into 3-4 sub-categories - like praise, toxic, request, concern, etc.

The worst part was getting names for the modern char, as they are kinda too generic. Getting Greek nicknames was much easier - just took some lists of Greek mythology and history :)

I'm the star of Twitch!

What a phenomenal idea xD Is it a clicker, a typing game, a streaming game? Whatever it is, I really liked it and spent way too much time playing it :D

There's a lot of humor, whether it's in Sisyphus's actions as he pushes his rock, in the tchat, in the mise en abîme of the screens, in the details of the scenery... right down to the concept of the game itself, which is pretty wacky.

And on top of everything else, the pixel art is really beautiful and very polished!

I stopped with over 60 million viewers, over 2,500 meters traveled, and a screen within a screen within a screen within a screen.

Bravo for this great game!

Developer

Thank you! Wow, 2500 meters is mindblowing :D

So addictive!

Didn't expect this game to become so interesting and funny, really fits the theme!

this really took me by surprise!! i was excepting just a simple clicker, but really appreciated the added timed challenges. such a satisfying and addictive game loop (and sfx), played this for a while :D loved the lil stream chat on the side heh

Overall: ★★★★★

Wow

Creativity ★★★★★

The real loop was jumpspinrolljumpbackflipspinrolljumpbackfipjumpspinrolljumpbackflipspinrolljumpbackfip we made along the way

Enjoyment ★★★★★

If I may call it enjoyment, but loved how the game progressed, initially thought it would be just a clicker, but how wrong I was. Shift in controls was unexpected and felt like a breath of fresh air (and cured some of my typo issues), I felt reverting back to original controls didn't play that well (or I just didn't like repositioning my keyboard to put arrows under left palm)

Narrative ★★★★☆

Don't know if intended but I got really deep into thoughts about my day job and how I can break the cycle, thanks... I guess

Artwork ★★★★★

Art is amazing, animations beyond amazing, later levels are definition of word "beauty"

Audio ★★★★★

BGM is great, SFX are clean and on point. It's much easier to critique than praise, so I have nothing to add:D

PS After finishing the game 7th time, found hidden ending: you need to finish a full loop using only Push and then.. won't spoil see for yourself!

Thanks for the detailed review! :)

Hope the narrative didn't hit too hard... You just need to imagine Sisyphus happy :)

Submitted(+1)

One must imagine Sisyphus doing a backflip for a 5 bucks donation. The mix of a clicker game and quick time events make for a fun gameplay and the charm of the chat and the animations and the different scenes make for the best entry I've seen yet in this jam. 5/5.
