I know it was accidental, but that first level felt more luck based than the gambler! Once I got past that though, it really started feeling loopy with the game inside a game, especially if you paired that with the duplicate scrolls, and then used them within the games too. That was super creative, even if I still lost most of the time! Good job.

Thanks! You're right about level 1, the only way to win is Ransack, which by my math happens about 30% of the time. A player of average luck should need to do it about 3 times; if you got unlucky, very sorry!

This is quite fun! I will say that the third level is extremely luck-based, and I think in most games it will simply be impossible to win, but other than the difficulty it is a fun game. I especially love that the gambler creates so much inception, and it really is like you are gambling with the amount of luck needed to play well. You did a great job!

such a creative take! It did get a bit Inception there, especially at the harder levels! Great job!

Nice game. I liked when I had to play the game inside a game

Doesn't fit the theme

Recursion is a type of loop!

This is one of my favorite games I have tried so far. It is very creative. I do feel berserker is a bit weak, but I may be getting unlucky. The simulate cards are my favorite.

I have to say the game within a game is a great idea and this game really showed that.

I really enjoyed playing as the wizard!

It is very interesting i like the different scrolls and attacks depending on the difficulty, even though i felt the first level way too hard in comparison haha.

I had a good time and the sound effects are neat! :) congrats!

Wow that is such a unique concept with the subgames! Someday I will play a real game with Shahrazad!

I don't know if I love that the dragon does a random range of damage. Some runs just seemed unbeatable, especially when you did not draw, redraw cards. Would have loved to see my deck size somewhere. And dying in the main game but still being able to play the sub game felt a little weird. Like you know you are doomed with no chance of revival but still have to play it out?

Small bug i found I think? When playing the double cast on a subgame and losing the first but winning the second I did not get any card rewards.

The multiple levels you can go deeper is super ingenious and that it all flows back to the top game is super innovative! Great job! I did get lost at some point not knowing it which level I was from what subgame :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! To address one of your concerns; the deck doesn't really have a size - it's just an infinite source of scrolls.

I'll investigate the bug you found - I've been in that situation before though and that hasn't happened to me, so there may be an additional condition where that occurs.

Very interesting little premise, I like the influence cards can have between the looping levels, and the cascade of effects that can apply. I was unsure at first how to win, but I figured out pretty quickly it's more about survival than murder, which is an interesting new idea for a card game. I do feel like the classes lack depth, without the ability to do damage, and the tight constraints set by the high difficulty, it's more just heal as much as you can, with success highly dependent on rng. I definitely do like the premise, this is definitely a game with a fighting chance.

I Beat Level 4 as both Wizard and Gambler, tho the latter occured in a play test version the dev shared in a dc version and it was an absolute blast both times! I invested a few hours today in this game, both playtesting and now after deadline and highly encourage you to give this 5 stars across the board. Overall I am highly addicted to this game and will now start another run!

Sadly I don’t have time to rate the 10 games in cue as I am on vacation and only have my mobile device at the ready. So I can’t give the 5 stars I would give to this overall!

(Edit, i won with every class now, tho Berserker is a bit finicky)

Wow, this game was a lot of fun! It was getting really confusing when I was like 6 games deep on level 4 wizard and kept choosing wizard simulations, but was fun! has anyone beat lvl 4 ? tried for a while couldnt do it, overall great game!

Developer

Very glad to hear you had fun! Level 4 is the last level; it's tricky, but you're almost there.
